krazy,
Is your girl in 2 Hu? If so, I just wish to check if you also received the CL teacher's (Ms Oh for my girl's case) instruction sheet for labelling of exercise books? I'm confused cos' the Spelling (Ting Xie) and Notes (Bi Ji) are specified as \"Zhong Fang Ge\" which I assume is medium square exercise books. But the booklist listed only 1 med square ex book and 1 single-line jotter book for Chinese. Any parent has this problem?
Apparently my girl's class is split for mother tongue and she goes to a class 2.7 (Enrichment). What does the \"enrichment\" mean? Does it mean she needs extra help? Just curious. -
whalezup:
whalezup,Sorry to bring out this old topic. I just want to respond to kiss and bebebub and close this chapter.
I am quite unhappy about the school bus as I feel that the driver did it out of his own interest, ie, saving time so that he doesn't have to make more turns by dropping kids off on main road and further from home. That really defeats the purpose of hiring a sch bus in the first place. The reason he gave me was if he has to do it for my child, he will have to do it for everyone. My response to him is the kids safety should be their first priority and not saving petrol or time. (He has to pass by our block first anyway) Then he went back to the same old reason like a broken record. Same thing when I spoke to Mr Neo (not realising he is probably from the same bus company). He told me there is only 1 bus serving our area when there are more than 20 buses on the list.
The school bus transport is run like a cartel which means we as parents will not have any say if they decide to change the route and the child now takes 90 mins to get home vs 10 mins previously or if they decide to raise their fares. Simply because no other buses will dare to drive your kids home.
Having said that, I am aware that my situation is not unique. My niece takes 90 mins to get home from school and is the last kid to be dropped off, simply because the driver lives near her place. Poor kid is famished by the time she gets home.
So as what bebebub says, bo bian lor. Until the day I become a SAHM or when DD1 is old enough to take public tpt on her own, I will just have to bear with it.
This is really an eye opening experience for me
I'm sorry to hear. I know how anxious you must have felt waiting for your girl. Once my girl's bus driver also forgot her and she reached home last! That was around 8+pm, last year pm session. But the driver apologized profusely, later I learnt he's quite a nice uncle... He does drive into our estate, to our sheltered pick-up point below my block. Maybe it depends on the driver.
If I were you, I would still try to talk to PL's operation manager. If you ask nicely, I think there's no harm. Have you tried that? Maybe he can act like a middle person to negotiate for you.
Anyway, do feel free to air out here, no worries. We're here to share and lend each other support. *hugs* :hugs: -

I checked my girl's exercise books and for her chinese class, she is using the square exercise book for Ting Xie. She has labeled a jotter book for Bi Ji.
For your case, perhaps you can email Ms Oh for clarification and get your girl to buy an extra square exercise book if she really requires the children to use them.Bluedale:

Yes I emailed Ms Oh and she replied (credits to her for replying on a Sunday!)... Managed to clarify with her.

Ms Oh is quite nice. My dd had her for P3.
Last year, my ddβs CL teacher gave us her mobile number. -
Bluedale:
Yap.. teachers do reply, especially for matters such as these that affect the smooth delivery of lessons. For primary school children, they need more guidance.Bluedale:
Thanks krazy
