Me and hubby actually went during recess time only for the first 2 days so we find it still manageable except for the kiasu parents… Final day was also still alright for us, I guess its the standard SOP? I rmbr my pri sch don even hav orientation and Radin Mas is really alright for us…

        Hi, whats PAL n FTGP??

PAL - Programme for Active Learning (PAL)

As part of the Primary Education Review and Implementation (PERI) recommendations accepted by MOE in 2009, PAL was introduced to strengthen the emphasis on non-academic programmes for Primary 1 and 2 pupils. This is in line with a key desired outcome of PERI recommendations to balance the acquisition of knowledge with the development of skills and values. This is to prepare our children for a more dynamic future. Conducted within curriculum time, PAL modules provide pupils with broad exposure in two areas — Sports and Outdoor Education, and Performing and Visual Arts. It aims to facilitate the well-rounded development of pupils in the five learning domains (cognitive, moral, social, aesthetics and physical) and help pupils to develop social emotional competencies.

FTGP - Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP)

FTGP serves as an additional platform for Form Teachers to build better rapport with the pupils so as to enable them to identify the needs of the pupils and provide better support for them. The teachers undergo training to equip them with the skills and resources for them to carry out class-based activities that will better support the development of pupils’ social-emotional competencies. Through FTGP, pupils will have a more structured environment for class and peer interaction, understanding of their emotions and needs and more conversations with their teachers. We hope that with the new structure in place our pupils will grow to be individuals who are confident and having the resilience to overcome future challenges and achieve success.

        Thanks!

I guess is best the kid to have own pack food to have it during recess. We do not know which level is having recess time. Due to single session & late dismissal, the kids have to tahan to eat lunch either at 2.30pm or 3pm. (Assuming those take school bus which requires at least 1 hour on bus journey)

My children came back with new time-tables. The new time-table will take effect tomorrow.

So parents, pls remind ur kids nt to be too nice to share their pocket money with their \"friends\", otherwise they will end up with a hungry stomach ! :slapshead:

ya lor.. my DS told me his frens asked him how much he had...
I was quite angry and I asked DS back, did he asked the fren why?
the fren replied \" cuz my mami ask me to take money from frens..\"
Im speechless... I had highlighted to the teacher and hope someone will teach the kids properly...

I think those who took money from the students might be those students on financial assistance and the teacher did not gave out the food coupon.

Sigh…my P1 "lost" his class after recess. He was happily eating his 2nd cup of yogurt in the canteen. After finishing his cup, he realised the class is gone. Luckily, i showed him how the perfects look like (wearing ties) and to approach them if need help. He asked a boy and the boy asked him to go to the Hall. He went and found the class.

Alamak, 1st day aft Orientation week already "lost", I wonder wht he will be "lost" the next time after certain activities. So, I kept asking him wht he knows whr the Hall, Canteen and most of all, his classroom…He told me he noe where they r. Hopefully, he really noe.
In my heart, I was tinking wht the Teacher did ensure all the kids were with her when recess is over. At least, she should ensure that during the 1st few weeks or make announcement to the kids if "lost" whr to assemble…
And yes…aft 2 cups of Yougurt yday, he has a tummy ache at nite…told him no more yogurt this week…

Though the \"friend\" returned money to my boy but claimed he \"borrow\" 20cents only so be it a 20 or 40 cents, value of it is nvr a issue, he shldnt be borrowing money from any child except adults only. His form teacher ensure this will nt happen again.
