Me: Why?
DS2: So he can learn to cook Chicken Rice ( DS2's favorite food).

My DD just joined P1 this year so she’s clueless about the way her school uses the term ‘house’ to place then into different color groups. So one day after school, she asks,


DD: mummy, u r going to buy a new house right?
Me: mmmm…
DD: so what color are u going to paint our new house? Are you going to paint it green?
Me: No dear, I like sea breeze blue so I’m going to paint it blue.
DD: then how? My teacher says I’m in the green house. So I have to exchange T-shirt with my friend!

Starting school is wonderful as you get to hear stories about school. Last week, I overheard DS and DD talking while having lunch by themselves:

DD: My class got twins - one called Adilla and one called Azilla.
DS (after a pause): My class also got twins - one called Gorilla and one called Godzilla!

Me: (pretending to be irritated) go away, you are not young anymore for a hug.
