Yap.. teachers do reply, especially for matters such as these that affect the smooth delivery of lessons. For primary school children, they need more guidance.

        whalezup:

Sorry to bring out this old topic. I just want to respond to kiss and bebebub and close this chapter.

I am quite unhappy about the school bus as I feel that the driver did it out of his own interest, ie, saving time so that he doesn't have to make more turns by dropping kids off on main road and further from home. That really defeats the purpose of hiring a sch bus in the first place. The reason he gave me was if he has to do it for my child, he will have to do it for everyone. My response to him is the kids safety should be their first priority and not saving petrol or time. (He has to pass by our block first anyway) Then he went back to the same old reason like a broken record. Same thing when I spoke to Mr Neo (not realising he is probably from the same bus company). He told me there is only 1 bus serving our area when there are more than 20 buses on the list.

The school bus transport is run like a cartel which means we as parents will not have any say if they decide to change the route and the child now takes 90 mins to get home vs 10 mins previously or if they decide to raise their fares. Simply because no other buses will dare to drive your kids home.

Having said that, I am aware that my situation is not unique. My niece takes 90 mins to get home from school and is the last kid to be dropped off, simply because the driver lives near her place. Poor kid is famished by the time she gets home.

So as what bebebub says, bo bian lor. Until the day I become a SAHM or when DD1 is old enough to take public tpt on her own, I will just have to bear with it.

This is really an eye opening experience for me ๐Ÿ˜„
:grphug: Kind of agree with how the bus operators function and it is all about the $$$ rather than having that possible corporate ethics where they are dealing with children and focus on safety.

I don't like the private buses nor vans as the way they drive scares me. My other half sends them to school and hangs around outside his work place for 1.5 hr before his work starts.

Just curious, how woudl they feel if these are their own kids taken for a joy ride ๐Ÿคท

Anyone knows if the school has any CCA bus (to Sengkang) specially for girls who stay back for CCA? Are most CCAs on Weds? My girl wishes to join Art and has to stay back. Arranging transport.

My dd used to inform the driver of her regular school bus 1 day b4, and the bus driver will in turn inform the 4pm driver (Sengkang bus). Note, this is the bus that takes my girl all through serangoon, Bishan, then back to sk. The total journey depends on where the other girls who takes this bus live, and the driver will plan accordingly. My girl reached home btw 5.10 - 5.30.

Your girl takes the regular SK school bus? A lime green mini bus, driven by a lady?

My dd does not take the school bus anymore. Things may hv change this year with regards to the pick up points, so I suggest u check with the 4pm driver. Not sure if it is still the same one.

Sorry, can't help. Can you check with Mr James Ong, PL's Ops Mgr?

Hi hi to parents out there,

Just checking in and wanted to wish all a Happy New Year. :rahrah:
So fast, in 2nd week liao and the homework are coming in ....

Notice that the traffic along Lorong Ah Soo outside the school's front gate and at opposite side of the road is pretty bad in the morning......takes ages to reach the front gate...as a result, we were late on one of the days!!

I don't recall the traffic to be as bad last year when the school goes single session in the 2 weeks before school holidays...at least the traffic along the main road on the opposite side of the school was much smoother then....
