        Hihi,

My dd also in P3 this year.

Sigh… really worried for her. Her foundation really bad.
Yday was accompanying to do her Maths hw and vomitting blood at the same time.

Not sure how to help her to improve.

          Hi Giggler,
I started to push daughter in English end of last year. Math wise, she is weak. Was accompanying her to do Math hw too.
Give our girls some time to adjust...there is Science too.
Maybe you can get Math Weekly published by EPH...i have planned schedule that she gets it done by end of every week. From there, see which area she is weak and then reinforce.

            ...vomitting blood...

That seems like a very violent analogy! I am curious; where does it originate from?

I have seen it many times on these forums, but it is not standard English. Is it from Hokkien or another dialect? :scratchhead:

I have to keep or learn to be calm...or else risk having another bald patch when daughter reaches P6.

I find one good way is to redo the problem sums on her school/enrichment worksheets (by covering the answers) to make sure she really understand what were being taught n e concepts, before moving onto new assessment books as e variety of e questions n how different assessment books phrase the questions (ESP problem sums) may confuse her further.

I agree. This was suggested to me by another experienced mum. She used to change the numbers and/or names in the word problems and then have her kids re-do them. By the time the kids have moved to the next topic, they have usually forgotten the word problems they did in the previous topic.

Another strategy is to have the kid teach/explain their solution to the other parent on the next day. When you teach another person, it cements your own understanding.
