I have no time to visit the lib regularly and with 3 kids I have a small collection of bks at home. I usually stock award-winning or classics for them, need to max the space at home heehee

Ha! I am definitely starting him slow.

May I check how best to reinforce reading with Peter & Jane series, do u guys repeat the same book a couple of times before proceeding to the next book?

Follow the child bah. When we started with bk 1 and 2, ds will read them a few times. But once he gets the hang of reading, he will read either once or twice for the subsequent bks.

I like Peter and Jane and other UK readers, save me the time to explain, for now, the differences bet UK and US Eng. MOE is using UK Eng to teach English so thought better to learn reading in UK Eng.
Good thinking.
So when parents reinforce spelling at home, remember to teach 'colour' instead of 'color'.

So far the kindy tr does enforce it. I read that there are differences in grammar too but I'm not so well-verse in the language to distinguish them. I can only explain the spelling part :rotflmao:SAHM_TAN:

Hi, want to share this link with all kiasu parents here on how to get teacher resources for free (even local teachers used this website to generate free resources for children). You can choose the free resources, download and work with your child.

Hi,
Any idea where can I get those big Chinese åå” our teachers used in our days? -
mysweetlittlethings:
You can make it by yourself. I make Chinese word cards to revise with my child. Her kindergarten teacher provides a list of Chinese words that she needs to know how to read. Type in the Chinese words (font depends on your own preference), print on coloured or white paper and laminate. Hope it helps you. In local kindergartens or childcare centres, the Chinese teachers will make their own word cards.Hi,
