Hi there, my dd at sec 1. Can I know when are they going select their Cca?
My dd said that there will be a sports trial next Fri. They were informed at the CCA briefing during the orientation. As for other CCA, there's no news yet. -

As for the other CCA, in the past, it was ard the 3rd to 4th wk, after the sports trials...
but considering this yr, the sch term started 1 wk late..... -

Based on the last year, the selection result was only out after cny. -
How to choose which CCA if child is not the outdoor type ?
Looks like Uniformed groups have kayaking ( need to know how to swim !) hiking etc alot of outdoor activities. Heard that better to join uniformed group/ performing arts/ sports . Why ? do these give more points ? how much more ? is it not better to choose a cca you enjoy and want to learn from like arts/ calligraphy, mind sports ( chess ? )
Any CCA not on Sat ? Read that some have theirs on sat mornings 8-1pm !
CCA on Fridays better. Are there any held on Thur - that clashes with 3rd Lang. Need to know so dont choose wrongly.
And yes, the 2013 orientation was great ! :rahrah: -

UGs would usually need to come back on Sat mornings, but not every Sats...How to choose which CCA if child is not the outdoor type ?

Yes, PA and UG would able to get more points....
PAs have SYF competitions and so forth to gain the extra points.
Most CCAs are held on Friday afternoons plus another day of the wk.
Main CCAs are Unlikely to clash with the 3 rd lang.
U can still join an enjoyable club CCA, but pls check it out whether is it a core CCA or not.... -
