Hi lilipitz, my dd is also in class 2.2 chinese. Yes they need to memorise the last sentence.... btw the ting xie is alternate Thu right? DD wrote the dates on the tingxie list.....
Mine is class 2.2 for Chinese. Noticed that the kids were asked to mark the last ting xie sentence in each weekly list and it is meant as mo4 xie3 i.e. They have to memorize that short sentence and write out without teacher reading it out.Fabbymum:
The ting xie list has been issued out today and first ting xie will be on 17/01! -

I just wrote an email to my ds's Chinese teacher, asking if we could opt out. I will share more once I hear from her...
I saw the Chinese speech and drama letter too. My DS is not keen to attend so I am wondering too if we can opt out.Fabbymum:
Has any parent from P2 received letter for the Chinese speech n drama to commence during PAL lesson next week? Apparently, my son received one and it seems that we have no option to opt out for it. I am not sure if this is a compulsory lesson (during PAL) or not?
My ds prefers to have PAL instead because he mentioned it is more fun. We are asked to pay $26 for 8 lessons, commencing 15/1 (during 2-3 pm - which is half way through their PAL lesson).
Confused now...not sure if we can opt out or not...?
Thanks!
Fabbymum.
His teacher is Mdm Koh Ah Lek.

I guess this year, we will be more ready for this ranking system! At least, it tells me to pay more attention to our ds at his school work, spot quiz, etc… it is a continual assessment… sama-sama…let’s hope our children do better this year!

Is your child in P2.6 too? If yes, I can ask my ds to recommend him to teacher to take the class...it is a guitar CCA. My son is not keen becoz he plays drum and has quite a number of other activities like swimming, etc...that's why he didnt want more, which I understand...Fabbymum:
Yeah, I agree with you. My ds got a letter today that says that he was selected for guitar club this year based on observation last year for a guitar musical. I wonder how do they do this. Anyway, my son is not inclined...
Thats good, maybe you can talk to your child again to find out if he's not interested or other factors like teachers/ whether he wants to join his friends in other CCAs.
On the contrary, mine is interested but says he was not selected.
That's why I am disappointed over why can't they let interested kids try out -

Hi tigger88,
My ds asked the teacher today, she mentioned that the class is to be held during PAL, my ds told me that it is compulsory.
So, I guess I will just register him…no harm. Anyway, the teacher has not replied me, but I did not receive any bounced email either.

Hi lilipitz,
No problem about that! Do lookout for more CCAs...

Can anyone advise me: my daugther is now in p1 but for her chinese class she goes to 1.6 instead of her own class why and purpose? While some other goes to 1.3, what is the differences?
