      Hi Imami,

You are going to work yourself flat before the kids return from school.
I know what you mean by having the peace to spring clean without any distractions. Last week, I overworked myself…washed the fans, vacuum, changed/washed curtains…so tired when the kids came home.

I have enforced the 'tidy-or-else-throw' rule.

After they are done with their hw and before bedtime, they have to tidy room, clear eraser dust and bags or else they will not see their things again.

Just dumped some of the old assessment from cupboard and the pails which I haven't used for a while. Feels good to see tidier loo. No energy to change curtains in the living room. Need Tokuhon for my back now 😢

I know what you mean by having the peace to spring clean without any distractions. Last week, I overworked myself...washed the fans, vacuum, changed/washed curtains...so tired when the kids came home.

I like to do these things when my kids are at home so they can see me do it, learn how to do it (even if they don't actually do much), fetch and carry a bit. Once they got to Pr school and weren't underfoot so much, I started doing housework in their presence and usually give them 1 or 2 tasks so they work alongside me for a bit. I don't want them to think that houses get clean without effort.

My kid is usually around when I do the chores. But for heavy duty stuff like cleaning the fans, windows and gate, I rather he stays away. I stay on high floor and my home has just too many windows. I have to concentrate on cleaning the windows so that I don't fall off. If he is around, I may get distracted.

I grew up like simkhoo's kid's - watching mum did the cleaning, helping to fetch the cloth/detergent etc. And yes, I definitely learn a Lot just from hanging around when mum clean up. And of cos, I want my kid to learn a thing or two from watching me doing the chores.

I 收工 for the day. My trophies today - hall windows and grills, masterbed room windows, gate, 5 wooden doors, 3 glass doors, 3 Aircons, shoe cabinet, 3 fans, laundered the cushion covers, 2 toilets and vacuum the floor. Did I miss anything?

Surprising, I feel ok. Had a shower, put on a mask and taking a rest now. Going to cook dinner soon!

Tomorrow itinerary - kitchen cabinet, scrub kitchen floor, study window, son’s bedroom window.

If got time, I want to paint the bedroom window ledge…

You made me embarrassed...you did so much work?

Having kids around when doing housework is fantastic idea...during hols, I vacuumed floor and they both helped out after fighting who vacuums first  Nights when I hang up wet laundry on bamboo, daughter will help me sort out clothes and shorts...putting tees on hangers.

😄 yup, I am very proud of myself. Hehehe....

Was considering to continue or not just now, decided against it. No point over stretch myself today and tomorrow punctured right? Hahaha... Tonight I shall do something quiet. See what my son want to do later...

I knew you would say that! No lah. I sacked my maid last Nov. and we are doing it all by ourselves. Happened to see this thread. So much happier without maid. Nowadays, maids are not as hardworking as in the past. Very difficult to deal with. They live a better life than their owner. :spank:
