Currently I am doing PV at Beacon but still wondering shld i register my child in BPPS or BPP?
Since u r a PV in Beacon, should enrol in Beacon under P2B. BPPS will ballot within 1km under P2C for Singaporean -
But BPPS is listed in 1st 20 in SG. I am within 1km kind of missing the chance. Can i still be able to registered my child after 2C into BPP?
-
I seriously doubt you may be able to get into BPPS after 2C. The school ballots for within 1 km in 2C and I did hear that they have either stopped taking PVs or have restricted the numbers so that most of the PVs get a shot at admission.
Also I believe that no school is bad, given that all teach the national curriculum. It's just the teaching methods and pedagogy used will be different and that is what you should focus on for your child. In BCPS for example, ICT techniques are widely used given that the school is a future school. You then need to see if your child's learning is in sync with this. If yes, then you've made a good choice.
BPPS has been around for 50 odd years and BCPS will be sending its first cohort to the PSLE this year. To me that is no comparison.
So like I said before, think what works for you and your child and take a decision based on that.
Of course, you can always get in BCPS in 2B and try in BPPS. If you don't get in via 2C, you can always try your luck and appeal.
Hope this helpstare1919:

\"course, you can always get in BCPS in 2B and try in BPPS. If you don't get in via 2C, you can always try your luck and appeal. \"
Meaning i apply for BCPS in 2B. Then register for 2C in BPPS? Can be done?
\"BCPS will be sending its first cohort to the PSLE this year\"
Thought would be in 2014?
I have to register my child by this year.

No, what it means that you secure your admission under 2B, then monitor the situation under 2C. If you feel you have a very good chance of getting in (that is, not balloting), then withdraw from BCPS and register in BPPS. Otherwise, you can appeal to BPPS and take your chance that you get a seat before the school starts.
No, the school is operating a full house from this year (all classes from 1-6), so this year's P6 will be the first cohort to give PSLE. In your case, can't wait for PSLE results to be out and then decide...tare1919:

OIC…think will do that apply for 2B at BCPS then monitor. I think very low chance no ballot for BPPS at 2C. As i know the golden pig year also many kids.
Ya cant wait till the result out…hope the children can all pass with flying colours… -
tare1919, take the chance during the schools’ open house to bring your child to see the environment and see what he or she likes about the schools. Also for me the single session is good but it may or may not be the case for you. Nevertheless like others say it definitely makes sense for you to secure a place under 2B first, and then monitor your chances at P2C.

Hi,
Just curious, are we allow to stay in the school canteen and wait with the kids before they start their enrichment class? -
Hi,
Nope! The enrichment class is treated just like a Tuesday. Parents will not be able to wait at the canteen. In fact, the teachers may send the children for lunch early so that they can start the class on time.curious cat:
