You need to keep a cloth over the name tag and iron that. The instructions are given in the packet.
-
mine doesnt come with instructions… only 1 slip of paper which shows where to put the name tag…
maybe it was left out.
Ok thanx. -
These are the instructions as given:
1) Set iron to \"Cotton\"
2) Cover name tag with cloth
3) Iron firmly for 10-20 seconds
4) Turn garment inside out and iron from the back
5) Do not bleach on the name tag
6) Sewing around name tag is recommended
Hope that helps

SoSoMom:

I am charged $160 for taking 2 ways for a 11-15 seater. I am staying at the Rivervale area(within 1 km) from the school and the school bus heads for the student care near Hougang Mall after school. Personally I find the fees to be ridiculously high compared to the market rate of around $90-100. Can parents share your view? For a more meaningful comparison, pse state the followings:
a. boarding and alighting point
b. number of seaters
c. 1 or 2 way.
Appreciate any comment. Thanks.
What is the pick up and drop time?
Hi, we are charge $100 for one way, from school to anchorvale. It is a 5-10 mins drive by car. The mini bus usually alights him 15-20mins after school dismissal.
Initially, we were charged $75 (45 seater) for one way, but he will take
Thanks for your input. Your rate of $100 for 1 way sounds more reasonable than mine. I understand that there is a difference between 23 seaters and 45 seaters but still feel that the fees are too high. Anyway I have written to the school. Hopefully can hear from other parents as well.
Hi
Me worst, last to alight from the big bus and it takes approx 1hr10mins (he reach home 240pm) to arrive! Had called transport company since day 1 and today we called to hear from Jack that nothing can be done after telling us to wait and wait for their reply on changing the routes or to another mini bus!
Today he sounds blunt, b4 he was fine while trying to stall for time. Very disappointed. Ds keep on telling me he is tired, cold and hungry when he alight from bus. He was told not to eat his bread in the bus.
We called school and they said nothing can be done at this point. And just today, I noticed only 1 kid left in the bus and asked where are the rest (my boy supposedly is the 29 to alight out Of the 40kids) meaning,10+ kids have changed their bus. Bus driver & auntie confirmed this.
So I realized they have finalized everything and status quo for my ds now.
My boy already sick since last fri (I knew he will as he can't endure the long bus journey), he is someone who has almost never missed a lesson in k2 as seldom sick!
Anyone has anymore suggestions pls.
I can't fetch him as I hv toddlers at home... Otherwise I would as I know the tiring bus journey is going to hinder his thinking abilities & concentration in school.
$70 for 1way to Rivervale end area
Isn't it better now that 10+ kids transferred to other bus? The time taken for your child to reach home should be much faster now. -
Hi SoSoMum,
My DD was initially at bus 1 but they called me and ask whether i want to change to mini van as my DD will be the last few to alight. After discuss with my husband, we decided to let DD take the Mini Van and it cost us $100/mth for i way trip. At least i know she can reach the student care 30 min after the school. -
hi ctmy,
u stay at rivervale? -
Hi ctmy
Oops maybe I didn't mention my boy is, say,the 29th stop out of the initial 40+ ..hence when the 30th kids onwards are moved, I am still the last.. (Think they hv moved those same area which are all from 30th stops onwards)
(They refused to tell me exactly how many kids and exactly which stop we are, they use approx)
:scratchhead:
I shld be the last or 2nd last stop now, according to driver who can't even confirm last or 2nd last stop

Hi stress mama
So yr dd reach student care at around 2pm?
Where is the location?
Even when we agree to pay more from day 1, they still didn’t find a solution for my ds.
Erm ~ we encounter lots of funny things from them
Day 1 they were about 1hr late ~ nv call us (we give grace as day 1) … But they stop at a LRT which many blks away ?!
Day 1 &2 refused to come to our carpark, insists must stop at bus stop as bus too big to turn into carpark (not true as many big coach also able to get here)
Day 3 ~ call me and ask where I am when I waiting at bus stop (though I strongly disagree due to safety ~ I also need to cross a small carpark to this bus stop)… And told me they are in the carpark -
My gal from school to hougang st 91. took about 1 hr to reach. She took bus no. 2. The fees is S$140/- for only 1 way. Is too expensive. A small bus also took 1 hr den can reach the student care with a expensive charges. Her lunch become tea break. Was so heart pain.

Ok if you guys are referring to Bus 1… perhaps I could share some insight. My personal opinion is that the bus company seems very responsible and very good in the way they manage this whole thing. My daughter was initially in Bus 1 and she was among the last few to be dropped as we are staying at Fernvale. My daughter would reach home around 2.50pm on normal days. By the second day, the bus company called me to share with me that he is not confortable with the fact that my gerl had to stay in the bus for so long. He asked me to be patient with him while he tries to work things around. I was surprised because I did not even complain or anything. Now, my gerl has been transferred to a smaller bus. reached home earlier… but pay slightly more.
But just to share, I followed the big bus on day 1 from behind throughout it’s entire route. This is what I found out :
1) The bus covers the entire Sengkang estate… from compassvale to rivervale down to fernvale.
2) On day 1, the bus auntie had to stop at all the stops… some for as long as 2mins as parents were asking them questions. At one stop, there was no parent to pick up the child. Luckily a neighbour saw the child and told the bus auntie where he stayed and the bus auntie actually took the trouble to send him to his house.
3) Sengkang has a lot of 1 lane streets which made it extremely difficult for big buses. As a result, for some estates (esp in Rivervale), the bus would have to make extra rounds around the same estate just to alight 1 child. In some cases, there are students from opposite blocks but the bus had to make 2 rounds as they try not to make the parents/child cross the road (even if it is a small road).
4) On day 1, LTA officers actually go around the estate to monitor school buses. Some friends in LTA told me that it is actually against regulation for big buses to go into a carpark (esp for new estates) to alight kids. Some flout the law and just took the risk… perhaps not this company.
5) I understand from the bus company that in most cases, he transfered kids to the smaller bus so that they could reach home early but parents pull out coz they are not willing to pay the higher price. Hence, if 2 out of 5 kids in the same estate agree to switch to small bus, it will not make sense for the company to proceed as it would mean that the big bus will still ply the same route to send the other 3 kids.
I am not related to the bus company. But just sharing what I know so that we all have a better understanding of what actually goes on.
