Hi, my parents whom are looking after my boy is staying within 1km of St Gabriel. So May I know what are the chances of getting my boy in? He is born in 2008.
Very good chances. But you need a statutory declaration (check with MOE) if you want to use your parents' address as a main caregiver. However, this only allows you to ballot within 1-2km even if the house is physically within 1km.
A better thing to do would be to stay with your parents and change your NRIC to their address. So it will be balloting within 1km, a guaranteed seat at Phase 2C.
If you are Catholic or grassroots leader or PV, then the seat is quite guaranteed at Phase 2B, whatever the distance. -

It really depends on why you wanted Yang Zheng in the first place? Is it the location? The history or the reputation? My son is studying in Cedar Primary P1. I got a call from Yang Zheng today that they have a vacancy. Yang Zheng had been our first choice of P1 registration, but we failed as PR. Now my boy is quite happy with Cedar after the first week. So I hesitate to make the decision.
If it were me, distance is important, so would the academic performance of the school. It is only the first 2 weeks of school so I really wouldn't consider the issue of \"happiness\" or lost friendships. Some kids even transfer at p5 so what is 2 weeks of school? -

Based on the recent P1 intake, no balloting was required for St Gabriel. Does it mean for all the phases? -
If you go via Phase 2B or 2C, think you don’t even need to change your address. They even have places left for Phase 2C Supplementary. So apply by Phase 2C and you are safe.

Does anyone know if the buses from Yangzheng and Zhonghua offer services for kids staying back for remedials and CCAs, in addition to regular after-school service?

It's still good to be \"Kiasu\". Based on past 3 years' history, my DD school does not have balloting in phase 2b. This year, balloting takes place for those beyond 2km.
