      SDP have withdrawn........

Booooo.... Where got entertainment like that?

You didn't get the humour ah? Was laughing my head off this morning when I saw the news.

Say, this Chee not bad hor, on the front looks like trying to tackle WP but actually sending other smaller parties for a head-on collision first.. šŸ˜†

Still got time, still got time, don't hurry, think carefully...never too late to withdraw at the last minute! Or pretend pretend submit late... šŸ˜†

So how, still want to shout loud loud? At least \"Belacan\" knows that it will only be welcomed when it is needed. Otherwise, just be contented with the Nasi Lemak and the kuning... Oh yeah, and how about the ikan bills? Still awaiting confirmation? :scratchhead:

They already paid the price, long ago and continuing paying

Actually it's surprising they remain under the same leader. No faith in them ever since they kicked Mr Chiam out from his own party.

And even more suprisingly they managed to woo some new strong candidates to join the party. Seriously wondering why these candidates wanna associate. č‰Æē¦½ę‹©ęœØč€Œę – yo

If SDP puts a foot in this time, it gives no reasons for WP not to march their way into their wards come 2016.

So shall we see WP in AMK next? :censored: Too early to say hor, anything might happen...

Gotta hand it to him for his dedication n commitment, but he also has to learn to read d ground better, be more sensible n know when to fold to fight another place, another day.

u r prolly identifying CSJ as SDP.
there r quite a few highly educated n qualified ppl in SDP, n they r likely more attracted to SDP's progressive n liberal ideologies n democratic ideals rather than CSJ's confrontational style of politics.
SDP, as a party, has been at d fore front of policy debates.
However, do tend to agree dat association with CSJ at d helm has make them rather unelectable at present.

Dr Chee is often seen as creating drama, esp. during elections. Somehow, he's often in the limelight, creating hoohas, and often, end up being sued and giving 'oppositions' a bad name.

Here's a very brief background I have consolidated on Chee, SDP, and some surprising findings:

SDP was founded by Chiam See Tong in 1980. It used to have its own foothold in Parliament after it won 3 seats in 1991. Chee joined SDP in 1992. In 1996 (before 1997 election) , Chiam left SDP to join SPP (founded in 1994 by Sin Kek Tong), and spearheaded the formation of SDA (the party Desmond Lim is now contesting under).

The SDA was initially an alliance of four political parties: the National Solidarity Party (NSP), the Singapore Justice Party (SJP), the Singapore People's Party (SPP), and the Singapore Malay National Organization (PKMS). In 2007, the NSP withdrew from the alliance. Chiam won the 2001 GE under SDA. That year Steve Chia also won a seat for the Opposition under SDA in the constituency of Chua Chu Kang.

Chiam subsequently won again (the only win) in 2006 under SDA, In 2010, Chiam tried to bring in Reform Party into SDA, but did not work out as conditions set out by the Reform Party were not accepted by the SDA council.

There is no further updates on SDA after 2006 on Wiki and no records on Desmond Lim on Wiki except news articles. :?

(please feel free to correct me and clarify if I got my facts wrong. There are derived from Wiki under SDP, SDA, CSM, CSJ as of today).
