Hi mummies...with the currents (P5) school workloads, will you consider to let your DD/DS to attend Math Olympiad in school ?

Yes, I think its a good training for solving IQ qs which I heard there could be in psle.

As for the competition, it depends on his ability and interest. I will encourage him to take part if he is above average.

Thanks lim72, I just wondering if it does help on school Syllabus. 😄

imo, attending MO is like attending HMT... it will definitely help to tackle those tougher questions.... in every PSLE Maths paper there will be 2-3 MO questions to distinguish between A and A*

those going for DSA via Maths academic, the questions set are mostly at MO level.....

Just looked at the slide presented by dd's sch on upper block P5/6 Science

          P5
          Cycles
          • Reproduction
          • Water

          Systems
          • Plant
          • Human
          • Cell
          • Electrical

          P6
          Interactions
          • Forces
          • Environment

          Energy
          • Photosynthesis
          • Conversion

looking at the syllabus it covers more in P5 than P6....

For my DD1, the school starts off with the theme "System" first.

I heard PSLE 2013 will be Maths difficult.

So PSLE 2014 will be Science difficult.
