Not surprised. When they used to have a malay stall, roti prata with egg was $1 (around there).

I try to give my kids allowance in various denominations of coins $1, 50cents, 20cents and 10cents. Usually will make sure there is at least $2 inside.
Plus, I will add a $2 note for emergencies.
But different la. so far my kids don't spend (because they fussy eaters and they rather I tapao buns), and somehow they haven't got the idea that leftover money can put in their piggy bank. Will inculcate that later.

so far my girl has been having wantan noodles with top up wantan ($1), economic rice (60ct) thereabout…so giving the 1.50 shd be fine.
I received a letter for English and Chinese Enrichment programmes conducted on Sundays in HWS (it seems to be conducted by an external party as we need to pay for it - sorry I did not have the letter with me so I cannot recall the vendor name). Have any parents of older children attended this before? -
The extra classes are all on Sunday, and yes, these seem to be conducted by external vendors. So far the timing clash so I didn’t explore further.

my child attended the pri one express literacy chinese course last year for 2 terms. The materials are quite good but maybe due to the class size too big, teacher did not manage to control the class. There are students talking at the back and teacher just continue teaching. At the end of the lesson, my child cannot recall what he learnt and did not help much in his studies. Therefore stopped after 2 terms. Probably i did not try long enough to see results. -
