        Hi

Just wondering, is P5/6 Scholarship reduced to only $350 this year regardless of whether you’re in top 5% or not?

        Thanks

            Hi

Does anyone know if Good Progress Award is usually given out with other Edusave awards at the CC?

My 2nd girl receive Edusave Scholarship award and has received the letter for the award presentation this weekend. But my eldest who receive Good Progress Award have yet to receive any letter for the award presentation. I’m wondering if both will be given out on the same day at the CC.

            TIA

My daughter received the Good Progress award and has been invited for the presentation. I know they are running a few sessions so maybe your eldest is in a later batch? It may be worth checking though as they return all uncollected awards to MOE.

                Hi,

Anyone can update for the certificate of academic achievement awarded by the constituency, what are the criteria to be awarded the above cert? I only know is base on top 25% of individual school,

. do they base on type of housing?
. what is the income ceiling to be eligible?
. are independent school entitle as well?

                Thanks
My last year P5 dd was awarded the top 25% in terms of academic performance and EAGLES award.

Not sure about independent school but I believe they don't look at type of housing or income ceiling. Key determinant is top 25% performance in school.

For the top 25%, there is no financial award for the child. There is some bursary but the household income cap is low (eg. $4000). So it's as good as nothing. Actually I rather they give some direct award to the child (just like good progress $100?). The child can choose to save it. Or maybe popular voucher, etc... where they can buy book/ stationery?

For EAGLES, my dd will be attending the ceremony at the community club and I heard she will get $250?

To a certain extent, I wonder why the recognition for EAGLES is higher than the academic excellence???? As she was invited to CC for EAGLES but not academic excellence.

Is it true that only those awards that come with financial award (eg. Scholarship, good progress award) will be presented at a ceremony? Those who receive the certification for academic achievement award (top 25%) just simply receive the cert. through the mail? Quite a non-event for this group of kids. Whether it comes with a financial award or not, a certificate n a letter that arrives through the mail is quite meaningless 🤷

umm, maybe because they want to recognise holistic vs academic achievement?

Anyway, it's nice to have a certificate even if there is no money to be received. Since many schools seem to keep results top secret, it's comforting to know if a child is top 25% of cohort.

Top 25% is actually Merit Bursary (P1 - P6) for low household income only. The kid will only receive a cheque on the presentation ceremony. Whereas, the top 10% is Edusave Scholarship Award (P5 & P6 only). The kid will receive a cheque & a certificate.

Only the top 10% of P5 & P6 will receive a certificate & a cheque on presentation ceremony. They do recognise academic excellence, but is for top 10% & not 25%. However, your child might qualified for Good Progress if he/she improves greatly comparing to last year performance.
