Work loads heavier. HMT has more writing, ting xie, endless. No time to do other assessment books. Still have enrichment homework.

My son started the supp class but workload doesn’t increase much.

Anyway he is poor in time management.

Confirm hmt more work. Three out of seven days a week devoted to chinese learning and homework. Am trying to get son to do one math exam paper every two weeks, split one week paper 1, one week paper two. Science mcq exam paper revision once a week, he is able to do a question a minute,so that only need 30min a week for science.try to squeeze in one grammar and vocab exercise once a week. Time consuming compo for both languages are out of the question. Surprisingly, mo xie is not tough. He manages 86marks on his first one without getting me involved as he has reasonable short term memory to pull off such last minute learning. School hmt exercises, his mistake is glaring, on the zhao ju and editing section. We had told him that doing well in main chinese paper is priority, hmt is only bonus and not to sweat it. Some of those words I also don’t know how to read or answer!

At least do HMT can improve on the lower MT, you see. Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Supp class begins this coming week. It involves the whole co-hort, the school calls it enrichment class. For P4-P6 is compulsory. Keeping every thursday for HMT.

Mother Tongue still covers unit 1?

last year dd needed 1hr to learn ting/mo xie and easily can get 90+, this year 2hrs also not enough and got 80+.... the sentences are longer and words are more chime (more strokes)..... this week dd will have her 1st maths test..... her T already told the class it will be very difficult, those not good in the 4 operations (referring to whole number i think) will find it hard and may see some failures..... 😓 🙏 :lightrod: :faint: 😢

1st math test test on topical or include heuristics?

                      😓
i saw my boy using calculator the other day. the way he punched those numbers looked as though he was using a phone to sms!! told him to find a more efficient way to key in the numbers - use the middle finger!! put the calculator on the table for goodness sake! middle finger more accurate and faster than using two thumbs!! :faint:

problem sums using model or branching method…

for dd sch supplementary classes are not only for weaker students… some or in fact most are for better students to push them further for better results (eg. MO or HOTS…)
