Punggol East By-Election coming ? MP steps down

MMM:
We started walking towards the LRT direction when it was 9.50pm when Sylvia was talking. Once her speech ended, we were at the station... Paiseh  .... it is the first time for me on LRT and was shocked to realised that it is only 2 carriage... So didn't want to get caught in the human crowd when going back.
I know! I was already making my way back when LLL was speaking -That's earlier than you!
Because of how I made my way there, I feared the worst scenario with the mud on my way back with the crowd! And I actually nearly fell on a gentleman! So how? Did u enjoy your LRT ride? Did u have to wait long? I saw a row of cars outside my flat, took at least half hour to clear.

What concerns me more than the opposition parties is the way the supporters support the opposition parties, and the reasons for which they do so. All the pressure on the SDP to withdraw from the hustings and threats on the rest, and not a whisper from WP leadership about it…an opportunity to seize the moral high ground, missed.

and...INTERPOL were involved.
Interpol demoted by KJ to jaga duties. :rotflmao: -

WP never put any pressure on other parties to withdraw. The WP leadership already said that anyone has the right to contest. What more you want them to say? If by \"pressure\", you mean reading voter sentiments on the grounds and realizing that they will likely lose their deposits on top of making a complete jackass out of themselves, thus rendering the SDP unelectable in the next general election...
As for the alleged threats. Well, they could have come from anybody. What I find more disturbing is the insinuation without a single shred of evidence that the threats came from the WP camp. This is what I call \"dirty politics\". We don't need this kind of nonsense in Singapore. -

Too late, it's already everywhere! -

So, who pressured the SDP to withdraw?
You mean....it wasn't CSJ's decision? :nailbite:
Anyone can call anyone and say anything.
And on the topic of dirty politics;
1) CST's O level results were announced to the public to discredit and embarrass him
2) JBJ and CSJ were sued to bankruptcy, many others have been threatened with defamation lawsuits
3) TLH was called a chinese chauvinist and a threat to national security, also sued
4) smear campaigns on recent opposition candidates, PNG = failed businessman?
5) transferring administration of public land from town council to PA?
6) Losing PAP candidates becoming 'grassroots advisers'?
7) WP TC gets red flag over admin matters, but hey, it didn't lose money investing in Lehman, you know
We don't need this kind of nonsense in Singapore. -

I support this also..
Mind you I'm not anti-establishment or pro-opposition. So if WP or any other party you chose to chastise comes into power, I would want opposition in parliament, be it PAP, SDP or whatever Ps.
As the saying goes.. Power corrupts.. absolute power corrupts absolutely....
Seeing how policies are bulldozed into force and the apparent lack of accountability for some issues....
I feel some checks and balances is absolutely necessary to enforce transparency and accountability. -
There is a NEED to have some checks in our parliament. At least they are there to voice out for us…for most of us who are not high flyers, govt scholars…but just ordinary citizens. When new regulations are mentioned, there will be opposition who can ask WHY on our behalf.

Why COE, HDB, childcare prices are higher and higher? why rental of those premises are higher? Where is the voice?

COE prices are getting so high for entry level cars.
Not everyone can do without cars...just like some can't do without maids.
School bus fares are not cheap...SMRT is ahem :censored:
So, we definitely NEED someone who can voice out for us in parliament.
