anyone having experience on Karl Shonberg? was recommended by Chiu Piano of this german technology but made in Korea, sound seems ok but not sure how good it can last, 131 model cost 6500
then pianomaster was recommending Hai Lun 125 and Roslye R126, price 3600 and 4800 respectively
since I’m layman, there is no much difference in sound to my ear for these 3 models, then was told that stiffness on the key also matters, any review on how good HL125 or R126?
and was told that Hai Lun only in this industry for 6 years, no reliability data to prove… is that true?
I’m looking for a piano for my daughter for beginner… -
Chiu also recommended Kohler & Campbell for 8800, just in case any one here had tested before, any review? whether a good buy?

Hi all,
Need urgent help here as we are planning on buying an upright for my 7years old DS. Currently comparing base on the same budget of 5-7k on either a brand new u1J or a 20 year old U1. Pls adv yr take in this.
If anyone of u is interested to sell yr secondhand upright due to upgrade, do drop me a pm too. Am looking at Yamaha U1/j or U3/j models.
Appreciate all advice. Many thanks. -
Don’t buy U1J. It’s made in indonesia. Not comparable to a made in Japan U1. For 5-7k you can buy a 10 yr or less Japan made U1, this is what i’ll recommend. 20 year old U1 can be bought at around 4k from dealers or even less from private sellers on the net.

Kohler and Campbell is owned by Samick and is made in Korea. 8800 might as well buy a new Yamaha U1 or Kawai K3.

K&C at 8800 should be the 131 version. The sound quality (esp bass notes) are better than U1. Mechanism-wise would be subjective to player. At the same price, it would be a good choice based on price, if you intend to keep it for a long time. For good resale value, U1 still stands out. However, that's a large portion of cash gone. I like Hailun HL125 for the price you get, and the bass notes are considerably good. K&C 131 is a beauty too. I nearly bought it. Most China pianos are quite sick, except Hailun.
