Maybe they give this answer just to counter the overzealous opposition's persuaders
They were actually chatting amongst themselves.
Last year polling day we gathered at a friend's house watching Yap Ah Mee, one friend asked another, so who did you vote? The other guy replied, non of anybody's business. People generally have qualm to disclose who they vote, can see that these group of new citizens probably won't tell the truth to their neighbors, even among themselves.

concern2:
It is really a secret. So they can vote for whoever they want.... I think WP spoke about this during the GE.Harlequin:
Sometime people itchy mouth, add juices in hyped season like this. Don't need to believe every rumors.

They emphasized that voting is indeed a secret (unlike some hearsay where government can track by batches, etc...). They will seal the box after votes counting. Think this is witnessed by the relevant authority as well opposition representatives. Even when the votes are being destroyed (through burning), the candidates are also present to witness the process. Think it was shown on news when \"newly crowned\" Aljunied MPs witnessed the destruction of votes. -

Likewise when opposition parties (other then WP) are driven from the fray by fears, whether real or perceived.
Dat's fair.Way2GO:

If they naturalise in a country because they like the place, because it's well run and provides economic opportunity with low unemployment, why would one want to rock the boat? And if the MIW is associated with that success, it's not unfair, is it?
But it becomes an unhealthy problem when it is driven by fear, whether real or perceived.
The sad thing is when KJ brings up this issue, instead of folk feeling concerned about the democratic process being undermined, he gets more brickbats and derision, up to accusations of having concocted the whole thing up.
I actually felt sorry for him if you were to ask me. It was drizzling last night some more... :faint: And for that nagging feeling of pity, I felt he just have to learn it the hard way.

if such \"magic\" can be done, the last poll's winning margin wouldn't be so thin.

Yah I still recalled his last joke during HG by-election on the free food and how busy some MP was in \"coordinating\" that.PS rally is nice...very entertaining
i was actually expecting him to be as aggressive as those past rallies
this time he choose to talk about on LLL instead of pap
This time round, his joke about his attempt to speak chinese to one of the residents amuses me too
-
Harlequin:
I suppose so, now that you put it this way. It was interesting though, cos it was the first time I see them discussing in public about it - you know they can be pretty loud..

Maybe this time having a chance to see LLL face to face broke the ice..she does have some 'magic'..

Ya, the audience laughed about his name '别担心'

Fair comment.
Likewise when opposition parties (other then WP) are driven from the fray by fears, whether real or perceived.
If wan preaches democracy n equal voice for all, wan wld not condone any such practice dat runs contrary to dat democratic belief.3Boys:
Who is undermining d democratic process? The sad thing is when KJ brings up this issue, instead of folk feeling concerned about the democratic process being undermined, he gets more brickbats and derision, up to accusations of having concocted the whole thing up.
d WP? WP supporters? Or other unseen hands?
When d MSM starts ramming up dis aspect instead of more substance in his campaign, does it perk ur interest dat there cld be more to it than KJ's n his family's safety at stake here?
Wld agree without hesitation dat KJ's family safety is top priority - thus dis is a matter for d police to handle.
It is d way d matter is being rammed up, unfold n still unfolding in full public view dat makes ppl skeptical n begin to suspect its real motive. -
