Hi,


was hoping if someone can help me with this.
my ques may sound stupid. But I'm really quite lost.

1) how do i find out if the school i wanted to enrol my girl in is under which GRC?

2) so if my girl is to start primary 1 in 2017, i should start doing volunteer in 2014 as registration starts on 2016? (must be 2 years before?)
====yes, you are right, the earlier the better. Not necessary 2 year,but at least 1 year and above
3) so i just visit the PA or Community Center near my home and ask for an application form to register myself as a RC member?
====go to your CC/RC and fill in the application form; make sure you are Singaporean or PR, and the application my take 1-2 months to approve....
4) and also, is there a minimum hours we need to fulfilled?

=====NO, but you should be active and attend the monthly meeting. pls refer (2)

The following are eligible to register their children under Phase 2B:

(a) Grassroots Advisers;

(b) District Councillors of the CDCs who have at least one year of continuous service immediately

prior to their application; and

(c) Members of the Citizens’ Consultative Committees (CCCs), Community Centre/Club

Management Committees (CCMCs), Residents’ Committees (RCs) and Neighbourhood

Committees (NCs) who have at least one year of continuous service immediately prior to their application.



Grassroots Advisers, and members of the CCC, CCMC, RC and NC can register their children at schools situated within the boundary of the Group Representation Constituency (GRC)/Single-Member Constituency (SMC) where they serve or within the boundary of the GRC/SMC where they reside based on the post-2011 General Election boundaries


(a) Applicants are to ensure that the addresses used in their applications are their updated residential addresses and the same as that in their NRICs;

(b) GRLs may contact the PA Helpdesk at Tel: 6345 6163 if they face any technical issues pertaining to online application;

(c) Inform Constituency Office through their CMs-In-Charge after they have submitted application through Grassroots Connect; and

(d) CDs will print the application letters from Grassroots Connect, seek Grassroots Advisors’ endorsement and hand back the original letter to applicant.

that is the website that one has to login to register. For the name to be in the website, must be 1 year as a member not observer.

i know i might be asking the same questions. But hope u can help.

I live under the Bukit Panjang SMC and unfortunately there is only Zhenghua Pri Sch within the SMC. Does that mean that:

1. I can only serve Bukit Panjang CC RC and the endorsement letter will only be applicable to Zhenghua Pri Sch

2. Or can i serve the CC nearest to my choice of sch but it is within the Holland- Bukit Timah GRC?

Its v warped that the SMC has only 1 school under it and the GRC has 18! I havent been able to get an answer from both CC yet because they are unsure. (I tot you peeps might be more experienced)

I moved over to Bukit Panjang to me 1km from the sch of my choice and they have PV. unfortunately they cancelled the PV application for kids born from 2nd Jan 2008! So no more PV… only GRL way. But the constituency thing just confused the whole situation.

Hope someone can shed some light. Thanks in advance.

Just try ur luck under P2C within 1km. Y not try Beacon that no balloting for within 2km last year? BPPS still need to ballot within 1km. For my understanding, u only can join Bt Panjang SMC unless ur kids is born in 2009. If 2008, maybe lack of time for EM

Besides GRLs...Grassroots Leaders

- Only GRLs are eligible for recognition schemes offered by other government agencies

Now got new Grassroots Members (GRMs) scheme...
- GRMs are not eligible for recognition schemes offered by other government agencies.

Pls go find out more from the relevant authorities... (if any changes apply to eligibility).

Right. If you moved to another GRC and is still the EM of your CCMC. Phase 2B covers that GRC you are serving and the GRC you are staying.

If you serve in the RC or CC in your SMC, the school will only be in the SMC you are serving.

If you are serving in any CC in Holland- Bukit Timah GRC and you are staying in Bukit Panjang SMC , then it will be for the schools in Holland- Bukit Timah GRC and Bukit Panjang SMC.
