Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Secondary)
-
Hi Parents
I have a DD who’s in Sec 1 this year taking Chinese but we hope that she can move up to doing HCL for her O’s. So we would like to send her for additional classes to better prepare her but not sure which Chinese Language Centre would be best. Would really appreciate it if you can advise and share your experience. Thanks! -
Hi, I can recommend Ms Huang who has been teaching Chinese tuition for the past 10 years. She can go around Bukit Timah area. Pls contact her @ 9186 2785 to enquire.

Thanks, Jianhong and skytracy for the recommendation of tutors. Unfortunately we stay in the northeast so the tutors are a little too far away.
Do other parents have any comments on these Chinese Language tuition centres? If you know of other good ones which I did not mention, please feel free to suggest too. Thanks! -
I’ve experienced both Han and Tien Hsia, both aren’t that good in my opinion, though Han is slightly better than Tien Hsia.

Thanks for the feedback, Skyed. Other than these 2 centres, are there better ones?

Jiang displays the works of their students. Some of the analytical essays which I had seen at Jiang are:
- Is 曹操 a tyrant?
- Is 杨贵妃红颜祸水?
I have also seen essays on the bilingual policy in Singapore - I cannot remember the title anymore, just the contents.
DD stopped her Chinese tuition as she would like to try on her own but as she is in a convent school, I believe it will be matter of time that she will resume lessons there as I feel that the school’s Chinese standard is too low.
Looking at the works, believe the teacher discusses themes/topics with the kids.
I know someone who developed very strong analytical and writing skills under them and is currently working in a leading law firm. -
Coolkidsrock2:
It depends on the kid's background. Jiang has a lot of China students & all their teachers are from China. The class size is much bigger than Han & Tien Hsia & the standard is also higher. Not suitable for those who get C or below for Chinese.Jiang displays the works of their students. Some of the analytical essays which I had seen at Jiang are:
