My boy now has good friend to run off before assembly to play catching under the hot son. He is having topical review test next week. Should not be a problem.

Now my headache is this…first week, uniform already have pencil marks. Last week, came home with markermarks drawn on his uniform! Bleach already, but still can see the faint marks. Any good suggestions\technique to get rid of the marks?

still slow in my DD’s P1. she did two set of english spelling already. still have to receive chinese list. or maybe her chinese is even slower because she’s in the "foreigner class" (i think). all of the Filipino P1 we got to know in her school are in the same chinese class. i borrowed some kiddie mandarin videos from the library for her to watch so she can hear a lot of mandarin at home.

im thinking of sending her to chinese enrichment class. but i dont know which school to send her. i want a school that makes learning chinese easy especially for non-native speakers. i want it to be interesting for her and not think of it as extra work. right now, im thinking of inquiring at Berries in Tampines, or Tien Hsia in Simei.
my DD’s blouse also have some chocolate/cereal stains that I cannot remove already. washed it a lot of time but it’s still there. good thing her blouse is peach so the stain kinda blends. but for really tough stains, i use Granda’s Secret Spot Remover. i bought it at ArtFriend. but i know they also sell it at Motherwors.

Thanks for sharing on stain removing.
You can try berries, ask the admin if they can let your kid start one level lower ie k2, if your dd doesn’t mind. They also have twice a week class.
You can buy doreamon chinese dvd to let your dd watch.
My boy now watches channel 8, 9pm show , he reads the subtitles but some simple funny dialogue,he will try to duplicate . But parental guidance is strongly recommended.

zarahsmom, the class is in her primary school. i think during chinese lessons, the kids are taught according to their command of the chinese language.

jedamum, will try to visit Berries one of these days. thanks for the Doraemon recommendation. DD loves him. 🙂

Show and tell in two weeks time! Have to do some persuasion to get him to bring his favourite toy as he was worry that he may spoil it as it is handcrafted. Have tried out an alternative toy, but his sharing of his favourite toy comes easier than the standin toy. 😓

Filipino kids who really excel in their Chinese are those that have one to one Chinese private tuition at home. Usually those tutors are fluent in English and Chinese. The tutors can do translation for the child. This is more effective than sending the child to enrichment.
