GEP is the Gifted Education Programme which seeks to find and nurture the top 10% of a cohort. The selected children can then opt to study P4-P6 at one the GEP schools. P3 students will be invited to take the first screening test sometime in term 3. You can choose to opt out if you want. The selected children will be invited to a second test in Oct/Nov and then an interview. If elected they will be invited to join the programme.

This is separate from the PSLE. If you need to read more, there's a whole thread here at KSP

Can someone explain to me what GEP? Need to sit for PSLE?

          Hi,

Is your daughter new in beacon? This is the rule in the school right from P1. It's just that most teachers have not enforced it yet. My daughter's teacher also is enforcing the rule this year but my son's teacher is still allows them to wear PE attire the whole day.

Not sure why, but guess since they have PE every day, they made this rule. Other schools only have PE once a day.

Btw, which class is your daughter in?

My girl is in P4 this year. She had to carry her laptop and uniform (or PE attire) to school daily. But does anyone know why must they change their attire daily? other than the sweat..

What a small world! My daughter is also in 4/2. Mrs Lim, their teacher is very strict about this changing uniforms. One day last week, my dd forgot to take her uniform and she was asked to go to the general office and borrow one.

Today, because if art and cca, she was carrying 4 bags, inclusive of school bag and laptop!!

It should be in th pupil handbook. What I generally do is put it about 1-2 finger distance above the badge. Also a tip, after you iron on the name rage, just lightly sew it up. I found that just ironing it makes the glue come out after some months of washing. By sewing it along with ironing it, the name tags do not come out at all.

Blurmummy, are you going to the curriculum talk later today? Can you take notes and let me know what happened? I was planning to go but my daughter is quite sick (was on mc but still went to school today) and it looks quite bad!

                      TIA
