When I took third language, many students always came later than the time lesson began, so my teacher started lessons 10 or 15 minutes later, with the first 10-15 minutes being consultation or finishing of homework. There are still some students who will reach like 30minutes into the lesson and my teacher was quite understanding about it, knowing we had to travel from school. But I suppose what is of concern here is not about getting into trouble or not, but rather missing lessons. Week A shouldn't be a problem since dismissal is earlier, week B would be a little tight, but being late once every 2 weeks is better than being late every week, if there are really no alternatives.DS has been accepted into his CCA - floorball which has 2 training sessions per week - Tues & Thurs. Unfortunately, it clashed with his Jap classes on Tues.
As he is very keen to attend both training sessions, we are considering transferring his Jap class to Wed instead. However, with no transport to Newton MOELC on Wed, time seem really tight to get there on time. (release 2.40pm, class starts 3.30pm) Any advice from experienced parents whose kids is going on their own? Or any floorball parents is only attending 1 training session per week? What's the impact?
Thank you. -

Thanks for your reply.mummy so kiasu:
May I know which textbook do you used for Sec 1 Maths?
I believe it's called 'Discovering Mathematics'. I also think that at ACS(I), textbooks are more like optional gear.

Has any ACSI parent here hosted international students before?
I am hosting two Year 3 Indonesian boys and would appreciate some tried-and-tested or creative ideas where to bring them or what type of activities would be enriching for them!
Many thanks!

Hi, may i know where can i get floorball stick? Thanks:)
At Ayer rajah industrial (near Buona Vista MRT) there's a shop 'fatpipe attitude'
Blk 71 Ayer rajar cresent 05-26
We bought ours there. A youqng lady helped us. Apparently the shaft/stick needs to be customized to the child's height. The lady advised us accordingly. You might want to google & find their number & ask for their opening hours. It's a small outfit & maybe a one-man operation. We went on a sat, open after 1pm. Cheers

Hi Autolycus & Twilight,
Thanks on the info on sports vs 3rd Lang. I have managed to speak to the teacher-in-charge. Apparently 3rd Lang is considered Sch curriculum & takes precedent over CCA so his attendance will be based on only the thurs training session. Hence he can still continue to attend the jap lesson on tues without affecting his CCA attendance

Dun worry, the lady will advice on what to get for the boy. Besides the stick, you can choose the blade too. For us, we took the most basic model (price range ~ $85 to $250) & there is some 10-20% promotion right now. Have fun choosing.
