CHIJ Family of Schools
-
Hi cherrygal,
Thanks for your fast response! But I had heard that OLGC’s academic standard is better, but nt sure is it true. Do you have any advice on this? -
They both share the same secondary affiliation to St Joseph’s Convent. No big difference in academic standard in my opinion. I would use distance as the deciding factor.

According to my friend who is teaching in one of the CHIJ schools, SNGS and TP (both Pri & Sec) are academically stronger whereas the rest are about the same.

St Nic for sure...it's SAP school.
As for IJ TP, my daughter is studying there as I am a former student...her teachers since P1 are indeed doing a great job. -

Hi,
Can your friend provide more info on how SNGS and TP provide a more academically strong primary education? My dd is in Kellock, so I want to be able to guage how her school is doing. Thanks! -

Hi, it's base on average number of students who entered GEP and PSLE results. SNGS and TP produce better results each year. For PSLE performance, statistics should be available from the school web site.Precious2.lee:

Hi Parent, need some of your advise.
My dd is in one of the IJ primary sch. It is not affiliated to St Nick Sec, but if I intend to choose St Nick sec as her sec sch, will I stand a better chance of getting in since they are the IJ family schools? -

From all that I've read, only SNGS Primary is affliated to the secondary school. No other IJ school has the affiliation advantage.Hi Parent, need some of your advise.

Also, the affiliation is considered only for the O Level track, not the IP track. -

I'm looking at the O level track. I heard parents saying that one can get the Principal to write a letter and will thus stand a better chance than those not from the IJ family...can that work?
