DD has decided to give E2K a try. Now gotta wait for Math HOD to approve her withdrawal. Just feel a bit sayang becos she did MO for 1 year liao. Moreover, MO is more relevant to PSLE 😆

Both E2K & MO are excellent for DSA. 😉

        Wow, that's good! :rahrah:

By the way, just curious, is E2K offered at Pri 5 in your DD's school? I thought it is usually offered at Pri 4?

        Should be from P5 onwards ... 😉

My DS’s started this E2K programme in term 3 of P4 last year. This programme is offered compulsory to 2 classes of the whole cohort and cost absorbed by the school. Yes, involved creation and experiments but not within the PSLE scope. There will be some competition taking place this year. I understand that the programme will continue all the way to 1st term of P6. DS enjoyed the programme so far.

i dont think all schools have E2K. it's a pity for those HA students in schools that does not offer this.

i think some schools offered it in P4...

EXCELLENCE 2000 (E2K) SCIENCE PROGRAMME SINGAPORE

The Gifted Education Branch, MOE will be working with our teachers in an enrichment programme to cater to high-ability learners in Science in 2013. The programme was piloted in 27 schools in Singapore from 2009 to 2011.

The E2K Science Programme Singapore is a science enrichment programme developed by the Israel Centre for Excellence through Education (ICEE) for upper primary pupils who demonstrate interest and ability in science. We hope to nurture creative and independent learners through this programme.

wonder if they have included more schools since 2011.

DD enjoys E2K as the experiments conducted are always so fun. This year, they will be attending a few sessions of Little Professor on top of their weekly E2K sessions. Little Professor is conducted out of the school and DD can't wait for the first session. 😉

Finally found someone who is going to the Little Professor too ! Wonder what is it about ? Is the competition at the end of the 3rd session or are they assessed throughout the 3 sessions ? DS2's school has 2 teams going.

DS2 school has external MO trainer for them and he is also in E2K as part of his program. So this year is really packed. 😉 2 days of extra childcare not enough.

                    Yeah! :hi5:
I have no idea how many teams DD's school will be sending but I do know that only 22 kids are in the E2K program.

DS2 told me only 2 from his class got selected for Little Professor, the rest from the other class & Group 2 from mainstream ... 😉 anyway, it sounds quite interesting, just that parents need to bring the kids for the training 🤷
