I have always think must have 260 and above then it's good. Apparently this is not appropriate but I only got to know this is not appropriate when I realize that 250+ is already in the top 10% cohort.

      I personally think >260 is good 😉

250+ is good, already top 10% of the cohort.
      260+ is very good.
Only few top schools such as RI, HCI, NYGH & RGS require 260+.

I used to think and still think can go express stream very good liao.

188+ can already go express, but got limited choice. Higher score lead to more choices. 220+ will give the child more & better choices.

I used to think 4As was excellent.

4As will get around 220+ to 230+ Consider quite good.

              Me too 😂

220+ for us is like neither here nor there in terms of school selection. Abit stuck... 230+ will be better but lots of schools are 232-238 range.... So of course at least 238 & above is a safe bet....

:yikes: your parents' expectation was very high :yikes: but if i remember correctly, you only studied one day before PSLE, so actually you are capable of getting higher score...

Maybe you have been very bright hence the expectation?

The score is a relative thing. For a child who has always been doing A* and topping level in school, parents probably thought 260+ & above is a good score.

For a child who struggles to pass, making to N (A) is considered as a good score.

So there is no straightforward answer.

But now it seems even 220+ also has very limited choices in terms of schools. My ex-sec sch now requires >245 to get in

230+ will be considered above average.

Thus I am really worried for my DS :nailbite:

Yeah that's why my mom kept scolding me that if I had started earlier would not be like that etc etc... Same for O levels also =.=
