For the K2 graduation concert, it seems that only 1 class was given the opportunity to perform an extra drama segment. Any one knows the reason for this unfair treatment?

From my knowledge, there is no shortage of good kindergartens in Sengkang, i.e. Montessori etc. St Annes however, is more of a bridge between those and the PAP kindergartens, I feel. So their standard, while much better than PAP is not comparable Montessori or other prestigious preschools.

Most church kindergartens do not have much funding, and the teachers themselves are not highly paid either. Hence, I feel it is unreasonable to expect too much from them. And it is unfair to say that the teachers ‘might not know every child’. I do of a few teachers from the kindergarten, and they all know the children they teach by name. They have a syllabus to follow, and as with all kindergartens, are vetted by MOE. I can’t say that all the teachers there are great either, but if you feedback to the school, they will acknowledge your concerns, and sometimes make changes accordingly.

As for excursions and class activities, I know they have organised zoo trips, MRT excursions, cookie-making classes, visits to snow city, river cruises and other activities before. An IKEA trip might be pretty fun to a 5 year old too.

And as far as I know, the school has an emphasis on imparting values to the children like love and compassion (at least for the time I knew them) which is more important to me than just syllabus and rote learning. That was what made my parents decide on sending us to a kindergarten with a religious affiliation instead.

        Cheers.

Both my DD are from St Annes.

DD2 will be K2 next year.
So far so good and whenever I go there for teachers-parents meeting session, they provided me an insight of her progress.
Same standard as my DD1 many years ago.
Some teachers are still the same as I could see.
But turn-over is a common thing in Singapore.
IMHO, why you cant see your child is because it is better not to disturb them. Some parents just like to peep ya. :yikes: :rotflmao:
St Anne's has their own playground and the gate is closed so no strangers can barge in. Security is tight.
Look at those under the void decks. 2 teachers looking after 10-20 children using playgroound in HDB area. What if kids run into the service road? Safety first ya!
I am not promoting St Anne's but I am satisfied with the school so far.
Talking about field trips, they went to Botanic Garden recently for K1 kids. Not always IKEA lah.

At the end of the day, if teachers does not see familiar faces fetching the kids (sometimes the parents or ah kong / ah ma or maid is late in fetching), they will be brought to the office to wait. The teachers do not release your child to strangers.
