I will be registering my DD in a few years’ time and I hope to do it via the alumni route as it seems to be the easiest way. DH used to study in a primary school called Dorset Primary School, and it was a mixed school. He still has the report book from that school. It has since closed down or merged with other schools (I am not sure which) as we cannot find this school on MOE’s school directory anymore. I understand from other threads in KSP that if one’s primary school was merged to become a new school, your child can register under Phase 2A of the new school. I am trying to find out if Dorset Primary School was merged with another school, and if that "new" school accepts girls - i.e. either mixed or girls’ school. I searched MOE’s website, but I can’t seem to find any historical list of merged schools, and the "new" schools they became.

        Would anyone know? Thanks.

MOE maintains a list of affected schools but Dorset Primary School is not in it.

You may want to give MOE a call to find out.

This is really helpful information. Thanks so much alng! I guess since it is not on this MOE list of affected schools, then most likely it could be closed down. But I will give MOE a call to find out anyway.
            :thankyou:

The list is not exhaustive. I know of one school that was merged with another school but the name of the old school is not mentioned in the list of the merged school.

So, still best to call MOE.

Rather than try to dig out ur old sch, which probably no longer exist, n even if still ard alrdy morph into unrecognisable entity or relocated far far away…why not try the nearest sch? Even if it unfortunately is a hot sch, i feel the advantages of being close to home for pri sch is priceless
