Yep, it is about who has the money to afford, and if this goes on, the ones with the money will be the ones who make it to better schools. I have written about this a dozen times and raised this a million times to the 'people in charge' but they have fallen on deaf ears.

We'll see, there is a clear divide, even amongst the 12-year-olds, between the haves and the have-nots.

            Sad...

In just another decade or two, the gap between the rich and poor will widen further, just like in other developed countries. Don't they see it? Can't they see it? Even school teachers are lazy enough to encourage tuition.

That is because the so-called \"people in charge\" belongs to the RICH Category lah ....

I like IKEA's slogan, \"You don't have to be rich to be clever\".

Let's give school teachers due credit for teaching their students well and we must have confidence in their professionalism, and praise diligent students for doing well in school.

                  Hi,

It is clear to me that developed countries belong to the 'have material & $' category and developing countries belong to 'have no enough material and $'

What is the line to categorise have $ and have not $ in Singapore (developed country)?

Can we consider ourselves who can spend time in forum like this the 'have' category? Or 'have but not enough' category? Then is there 'have enough' category?
:? There is also 'neither here nor there' category (mostly have migrated to a 'have plenty' category/countries but not sure have enough or not enough)

                  人比人, 气死人!

Having the right values will do. The rest is up to you and me to make the best out of our lives.

Sometimes, slogan will remain as slogan. 😄

I dunno but can we say that it is easier for the rich to be clever ?

                        You mean man or woman?

Man - Yes cos he will have many choices since there will be some flinging themselves at him if they eye his riches. And being rich, funding the wedding is never an issue.

Woman - No...case in point....LKY's daughter. 👅 Rich then very well-educated(per the discussion in this thread), overqualified sometimes, the pool of suitable men reduces in Singapore so must \"shop\" globally...takes longer, must pay \"shipping charges\"(all the travelling to date) too or ships self over eventually....
