Opps just looked at the component marks for English and MT:
They are Paper 1, Paper 2, Listening and Oral. No further breakdown into reading etc. However, the teacher did give me a rough idea during PTC.
Which gives a good idea of where your child’s weaknesses lie. -
Hi,
For those whose DC has other enrichment e.g. music, swimming etc, roughly when will you all stop these enrichment classes? Will you stop music lessons totally, continue to attend but with minimal practise or just reduce the frequency (e.g. 2x/wk instead of 4x/wk)? -
ds still have training thrice a week and he doesn’t want to stop. He said that he needs to do smthg that he enjoys.

I will still let ds continue his sports n music. Just that no music exams this year till after psle. But he will still hv to practice everyday if possible, if not, will be back to square one.
doing his weekly sports is also a form of break for him. -
The children should continue with their normal routine until the end of Term 1. Thereafter I think it depends on the child but you will have to cut back on some leisure time to start revising.
DS will not take piano exams this year but will practice every day where possible. Will send for overseas competition in his game of interest until end of Term 2 then stop and only do local training and competitions. Impossible to stop completely, must still exercise including swimming and badminton. -
Thanks all, for your views. I really hate it when some teachers reveal after pressure from parents and others who dont and stick by the school policy reason. Seriously, really don’t understand the need to hide from us PSLE year parents.
COP for last year went up coz of dragon year? Wonder if they will revise to 2011’s COP for this year. -

COP is base on supply & demand. Dragon year has more kids taking PSLE & the demand for top schools has gone up by 2 to 3 points. Even some neighborhood schools COP has also gone up. I hated the reply given when son's prelim papers were not returned...but will be returned after a certain time. If not bcos it was PSLE, parents will not be so worried and insist to see which area went wrong.

The cop for most secondary schools went up by quite a bit for certain schools this year. -
