A National White Papers takes a few years to prepare, as soon as they released one, they will start to lay the ground work for the preparation of the next one.

Imagine your beloved children will be slap on 45% tax and 20% GST cos money no enough, too many aged population to take care. How? If not import the immediate group of people to help pay taxes, pair down our children's liability.
This group of immigrants use much of their origin countries resources for their upbringing, but when they are in their productive years, they will be absorb here to lay their golden eggs to supple us! Amen, I thank God for that. -

Indeed, there could be a day Singapore is no longer the place to work and live. Not only that foreigners will stop coming, our own young and capable people may seek better job opportunities overseas, leaving even less working adults here supporting an aging population. The question of how to prevent such a scenario from happening should be pondered over and answered by all of us, not just by the govt.mum_sugoku:

So, the question is, how to make them want to stay long? If you are a foreigner, FT in SG, reading this forum, how would you feel? Would you feel belonged?
I think we also have to ask ourselves why they don't want to root here.
