      AtoZ:
      Please help:

      Mr. Lim had some stickers and stamps for his class. The number of stickers was half as many as the number of stamps. After each pupil in the class had received 3 stickers and 8 stamps from Mr. Lim, he had 39 stickers and 2 stamps left. What as the total number of stickers and stamps Mr. Lim had at first?

      Thank you!

          Hi

          “After each pupil in the class had received 3 stickers and 8 stamps from Mr. Lim,”

          This means ratio of stickers:stamps ------- 3:8

          \"The number of stickers was half as many as the number of stamps.\"

          This means the number of stamps is twice the number of stickers.

          Hence,2(3units+39) ------ 8units+2

          Best wishes

                Ivan has $276 & Bala had $540.

                After each of them bought a hand phone of the same price, Bala had three times as much money left as Ivan. How much did the hand phone cost?

                    2u = 540-276
                    1u = 264
                    so hp = 276-132 = 144 (ans)

                    m i correct ? :please:

                        How about these:

                        1. Shariman gets $5 more allowance than Nicky everyday. Each of them spends $10 a day and saves the rest. When Shariman saves $153, Nicky saves only $78. How much allowance does Shariman get everyday?

                        2. Jane and Kelly have 120 beads altogether. Kelly and Linda have 80 beads altogether. Jane and Linda have 160 beads altogether. How many beads does each girl have?

                        Thank you very much.
