Do they have referral programme like others? If yes, may I have one?

No, they dont have referral programme.

      I see. Thanks 🙂

My son had gone through the placement test for P1 Headstart programme and have been offering a slot. He was tested with a considered not so thin story book consist about 20 pages. Each page is about 30-50 words. Few questions were asked after the reading. A short interview had been carried out before and after the test. I was sweat throughout haha... All in all the whole process took more than 30mins.

I would strongly suggest keen parents to ensure your child reading readiness before going for the test. :xedfingers:

Just to update on my DD’s assessment for P1 HeadStart English Programme last Sat. She went through a similar assessment shared by other parents in this thread. Was asked to read a book, which was followed by the tester setting written questions around the book she read and for her to provide written answers to the questions. Finally, she was asked to write down in a sentence what she likes to do in her free time. I was told lessons are expected to start after CNY or this March, once the class is formed.

                  Yes assessment is needed.
The kid needs to know how to read instructions (e.g. some reading ability must be there), know how to write numbers in words etc.

They did not shift there. It is another centre. They hv 3 centres in all - Thomson, Bt Timah and Parkway. They hv English classes for P1 -P6. I am also thinking of enrolling my child there. i called them this morning and was told that there is a talk for parents only by a lecturer from NIE. Thinking of checking it out before I enrol. Does anyone know if they are teaching the new PSLE format?
