hi everyone, my son who is 4 can remember 30 cards for linking memory. he is not with shichida. the school that he is in does not sell the cards for us to practise at home. so, it is solely based on the training in school that he can recite the cards. can i check with the mummies that 30 cards is a gd indication of his memory power, considering that we don't practise this at home? TIA!

      Hi Rei Yan,

Wow! In my opinion your child is gifted in \"photographic memory\".
      Every child have different talent...

According to my kid's sensei, you should focus on your child's strength and interest.

So would recommend you practice to expand your child's talent.

I got a school friend... he can remember more than 100 song lyrics after seeing and hearing the lyrics. I wish I have that kind of memory!

      All the best!

          Hi,

Just to share with you, in Shichida, 3 yo, they will remember 50 cards in each set.

4 yo they will recite the from memory.

            Rei Yan,

That’s great, hope your child continues to strengthen his memory.
In Shichida, for 3 year olds, the requirement for passing the linking memory test is to arrange 40 cards in 3 minutes. For 4 years old, the requirement is to recite 50 items in 2 minutes. For 5 years old, the requirement is 100 items in 2 minutes. (The time limit is actually very comfortable for them.)

anyone of you sending kids to happy train at bugis? any comment?

my gal attended shichida from 10mo to 2.5yo. probably b'cos i did not do home practice with her, her memory is poor / far from my expectation. not wanting to give up totally, i switched her to happy train @ bugis. she has been there for a month and these are some of my opinions with regards to the 2 schools:

              1) shichida was conducted in a more formal way. shichida teachers were more serious in class and they started/ended each class on time, whereas happy train teachers are more lively and flexible.
              2) shichida admins could be quite unfriendly whereas happy train admins are the teachers themselves and they remember each student by name.
              3) every shichida class was conducted in english with a bit of foreign languages incorporated into the lesson, whereas happy train conducts its classes in pure english, mandarin or japanese (one each week; this is one of the reasons why i switch to happy train)
              4) happy train is almost 50% cheaper than shichida.
              5) shichida's definitely more high tech - it's using macbook with lcd projection whereas happy train is still using cd player
              6) as for the content, happy train doesn't have linking memory, phonics, abacus and speed reading. i'm still trying to think what activies happy train has that shichida didn't. otherwise the rest of the activities like flash cards, photo memory, flash memory, finger training, etc... are similar.

                Dear all,

I am looking for the right brain training course for my 7 mth baby girl. I understand that there are some courses provided in the market, for example. Shichida method. I see a lot of feedback and comments on this method. How about Heguru method? Who knows about this method? Is it possible to share with me?

                Thanks in advance!

                Mrs Lok

                  Hi,

If you are talking about right brain training... then it is either Shichida, Heguru or Glenn Doman.

Shichida and Heguru are almost the same. I would advise you to go for their trail classes to get a first hand which one suit your child.

Both are very good! Your child must enjoy or feel happy in that class.
                  That is most important.

                        Mishasha:
I used materials from various sources : Glenn Doman (POIs and BOIs), Tensai Store, TweedleWink (0-6yrs) and Wink (above 6yrs), download files compiled by parents in Brillkids forum and flash in ppt, collect pictures from Google and DIY flash cards etc.

I came across Rightbrainshop but found it not suitable for my kids, so I continued to DIY my flashcards. I bought flashcards in 7 languages from Taobao and books from Dangdang to make my home practise more interesting.

or you may go to Taobao and search under : 杜曼 or 七田真. Many flashcards and CDs available, much cheaper than Tensai store.

                        - Go to Taobao and search : wisecube.

                        its so much cheaper!
