Hi My boy is from 1D.


I didnt hear there is any test next week. I am also curious what they are selling at the canteen at what my boy has been eating everyday.

I also hear from my boy that the chinese teacher is always shouting. any of your boys feedback that to you?

Yes the english teacher is good givung feedback daily.

My boy is also in 1D.

Base on his Maris buddy book - my boy has written down No chinese spelling this week and next week. There will be test next week and base on Chinese text book page 1 to 34. what is the test about my best bet should be like the worksheet he bring home yesterday (listen to what was the question and they do the worksheet).

chinese teacher shouting - hmmmm my boy didnt tell me at all and but i doubt so. Coz if that is the case he should be doing very well coz he is scare of fierce teacher hahaha. then again he will definately \"complain\" to me if the teacher always shouting at them.

Heard from my boy is that other classes of pri 1 the kids were given mini white board but only their class wasnt issued with the white board.

I found this in Maris Stella website on dates that they will be tested. Not sure whether it will be helpful to most of you. Apparently for chinese should be similar as what the paper (listening) that was ask us to sign yesterday. Hope this is useful to you guys as it is for me somehow.

Based on the list there shouldnt be any chinese test next week. It should be on Term 1 week 9 4/3 to 8/3 / Correct me if I am wrong.

Based on the email from the teacher, P1 Chinese Test is in the week of 25/2-1/3. Test can be on any random day. They won’t tell you which.

I am more concern about the drinks sold at canteen. I long suspected my son is buying drinks from the canteen as I caught him a few times when he was in P1. Though he promised not to do so anymore, I don't believe him. I have to remind him every day not to buy sugared drinks during recess. He is P3 this year. Just now my maid told me my son drinks a can/bottle of isotonic drink a day cos he brought back the bottle. I am very furious with my son and I also think the school should audit the kind of stuff that is sold.

My boy came back and told me he drank a can of H2O one day and I told him it's not healthy (did not elaborate why lah). He said it's H2O (water) and the can says \"new improved healthy formula\"! Faint! All these marketing gimmicks!

Anyway, I told him it's best if he spends just on food and save the rest of his pocket money so that he can buy books/toys. If he wants sugared drinks, come home and drink FOC Ribena which he need not pay money. Guess it was a good enough proposition to him so he doesn't seem to be buying sugared drinks in school anymore.

Parents of P1 kids - Any thoughts about the Youth Development Program (YDP). Worthwhile to go for it?


Parents of P2-6 kids on YDP - What happens if the kids eventually don’t get selected for school team? They just "drop out" and choose some other CCA? Selection for school team is done in P2? P3?
