I hope my post on my friend's experience did not mislead any parent to think that I was talking about nygh or hc jc. I was only sharing what my friend went thro when she was a jc student in another school.
That's precisely the impression I had after reading your post in question. This is after all NYGH thread. As a parent I am extremely concern about the alleged inappropriate actions by the teachers, things like throwing duster and marker. I am concern enough to contemplate writing to the school and highlight to them what I read here. They have to do something if the allegations are true. If not, they should also set the record straight. These allegations are tantamount to libel if they are baseless. -

I was shocked to read all these 'stories' as well.rains:

Actually I shouldn't be at this thread cos currently I do not have any DC in NYGH. However, I have always had a good impression of NYGH for its chinese values & it is definitely one of my school of choice for my P6 dd.
I honestly hope all these are not true & the sch look into them. -

If this is not true, the school's reputation will be tarnished and worse still, the school might not be aware of the allegations level against them. How to set record right like that? That's why I am thinking should I alert the school. These are serious accusation and we cannot assume they know because they are not oblige to read KSP. Meanwhile, we can only hope forumers post what they know is fact and their views on issues and not hearsay stories which are speculative in nature and not substantiated by fact. -
Yeah, I didn’t think it would be connected to nygh when I was typing the post as I had made reference to the experience mentioned by Mdm wenjuan. And I was talking about my friend who would be in her mid thirties, so I didn’t think i needed to be too explicit. But after reading the few posts after mine, I went back and re-read my post and felt that some readers could have misunderstood that I was referring to nygh.

On Thursday morning during assembly, mdm Heng shared with the girls about a baseless allegation made by a girl that the school has cut back on the budget for CCA. She called out to the girls that all complaints must be base on facts and not hear say.
If indeed the bad experiences that Cassiopeia, mdm wen Juan and lim gh have accounted here are real and base on actual facts, pls do not hesitate to immediately step into mdm heng’s office or any of her vp to complain and lodge the case against the concerned teacher/s for further investigation and clarification. afterwards, kindly share with us their attitude and action.
What you have shared are serious allegations about the school and the attitude and contempt by a teacher cannot be taken lightly. -

Hmm.. I'm not sure about cases Mdm wen Juan and lim gh said are true... But I hope all of you didn't misunderstood my post. It's true that the teachers are biased against some students and so on. But they shouldn't go overboard. I also feel that NYGH is a well known school with good reputations. And as for the teacher who said my dd skipped school on purpose, this is true and I have already emailed him. So I hope to get a reply soon and can alert all of you so that you all won't be so worried about your dd.
I'm sharing from what I'm experiencing. Hope all of you can understand

Other than one or two teachers, I’m still pleased with the school and stuff(: Like last year’s musical was great. School management are really helpful. So don’t get me wrong

Hi I just want to make afew clarifications. Even though I may be disappointed with the school's teaching system, this is only applicable for afew. For example, my older daughters are enjoying their senior years. The school's system is suited to make students with sufficient intelligence thrive and excel. A school cannot be perfect. I am just sharing as an experienced parent and to maybe share that Nanyang is not for everyone. I am mostly disappointed by the way they treat weaker students. I hope i did not stirr much misunderstandings. Very sorry, but I just want to share my experience. On Thursday morning during assembly, mdm Heng shared with the girls about a baseless allegation made by a girl that the school has cut back on the budget for CCA. There were one or two parents here who had posted one or two unpleasant incidents in class experienced by either their own dds or friend's dds.
Allow me to express my personal take on this:
1. Those incidents need to be verified or clarified with the school's teacher or P/VP. I think it certainly does not help the situation of the student(s) in posting here in the forum. And by the way, no school, no matter how reputable it is , can be a perfect school to please every child or parent.
2. My dd is at NYGH and she feels NYGH is a very caring & nurturing school, just like how many many of her seniors and juniors schoolmates feel. -
Student in sin are all stressed out cannot enjoy their Cny
