What is the difference in New PSLE ENG syllabus in 2015? anyone can list out the difference? or where can we find out the details?
thank you. -
HI mummies, these are the changes i know from my dd’s tutor.
Comprehension will be changed from narrative text type to expository, instruction and report text type. Questions will vary from inferential, direct to table form.
As for composition, the initial four picture will cease and a change to three picture exposition or narrative writing.
hope it helps. -

Anyone knows if Popular now sells assessment books for the new syllabus for P4 English?
-

Any parents can update if they received any new info from school regarding P4 new English syllabus?

This was what the English HOD presented during my DD's MTP session...
For compo writing, the students will be given a topic to write on, eg.
\"Write a composition about a time you were praised for doing a kind act.\"
They will be given 3 pictures to help them eg.
Pic 1: It was raining, you saw an old lady falling down in front of you
Pic 2: Old lady now holding your umbrella, while you picked her things up
Pic 3: You were standing on stage, being praised by teacher/principal.
The compo should be based on at least one of the given pictures. Students
can choose to use 1, 2, or all 3 pictures. They will be given some helping
words.
For oral, it's called \"Stimulus-based conversation\".
Example given was pictures of different items with prices labelled next
to them. Items like soccer ball ($19), birthday cake ($12), book ($8), etc.
And the conversation topic will be stated below: \"Look at the picture.
Which of the items would you choose to buy as a birthday present for
your friend? Why?\"
That's what my DD's school will be doing. Not sure if it's the same for all. -
Thanks BigDevil for sharing!
This is certainly helpful.
Just curious, did they touch on the comprehension part?
I noted that my DS's enrichment class is doing quite abit of graphics stimulus questions recently - acc to the teacher, it is in line with the new syllabus?... :scratchhead: -
Nope…no mention of comprehension.
