seriously, there are many ‘attack in sleep’ stories from NUS hostels (Kent Ridge is really spooky!) and army camps!!
When in Tekong, I was once ‘pounced’ on by something while in my sleep…till today, I can still remember my struggle to break free!! :!: -

wa..i can hear the Ghostbusters tune already.....ChiefKiasu:
Now, this sounds like a job for winth's brother!
\"who do you call? Winth's Brother!\"
He's still on his quest on 'trying to be normal'.
Oh... I have already moved out of my house, plus my tenant too. So I think it's no longer that creepy to share it here.
This guy (old one) likes to stay in my tenant's room. My tenant is extremely yin and she can 'feel' presences. She told us before that she felt that 'it' is staying in her room and goes roaming around when she comes home at night.
Once, my brother was in my house and he walked past her room (which is always closed) and sensed hostility towards him. He opened it up and was scared by how it looked (it was trying to scare my brother away). He went in and did some 'talking' to it, before 'it' looked normal again. That's the resident in our house which we didn't manage to 'chase' it away the other time, due to a slight overlook by the master. 'It' told my bro that 'it' likes my tenant and just wants to look at her. :faint: Till now, I didn't dare to tell my tenant.
A couple of times before, my tenant would feel something was on top of her. Once she was woken up and saw an 'old man's image' with his head projected upwards towards the ceiling (elongated type) that it scared the shit out of her. She could sense that it wasn't hostile so she just kept telling 'it' not to disturb her. -

Anyway, I don't think you are silly ....
I do know a few who sleep with an eye mask/patch on ....
-
no apologies needed, girl. we're just here to spook each other.
And I think you're right. It's more correct to call it eye-patch. Have been calling it a mask all my life. :faint:
And when I gather all my courage again, then I shall bravely read thru all the other posts. But for now, :siam: -
It’s really enjoyable reading all the spooky ghost stories and encounters people had.
Mine occurred during my one year stay in a service apartment in Melbourne. 2 other friends and I shared an apartment. The first day I went there, I already didn’t like it. The apartment was very far from the lift lobby. It was the last apartment at a winding corridor. Even though the lighting was quite sufficient, light never seemed to reach our door. Upon entering the apartment, it gave me the feeling of uneasiness. It’s gloomy (even though it had big windows and very sunny outside) and that as if there’s a lot ‘things’ blocking the way. Anyway, we didn’t change apartment and stayed there for a year (even after encountering the following ‘major’ incidents):
1. One night upon the 4th month of our stay, I was using the bathroom and my two flatmates were in their rooms studying. Suddenly, there was ‘someone’ banging VERY hard at the bathroom door. It was so hard that it was shaking badly and loudly. I was very angry (who’s so rude?) but thought well, maybe someone needed the toilet urgently. I shouted out ‘who’s that?’ (no reply) so I quickly dressed up and unlocked the door. When I came out, I saw my two flatmates in the common area, staring at their own rooms. They said their doors and windows (even balcony doors) were shaking very badly and there’s very loud noise. It was not due to wind as we closed all windows (winter time), nor was something happening outside as other friends in other apartments didn’t experience this. My two Christian friends and me (non-Christian) quickly prayed.
2. One morning, while still sleeping in my bed, I was woken up by a very strong scent (something like perfume but I couldn’t describe it). It’s like as if someone just put a bottle of the scented thingie under my nose to inhale. It’s not my flatmates’ perfumes. And that day, I suffered the most serious headache i ever had.
3. During my summer holidays, I traveled overseas. My lecturer came to stay in our apartment and my flatmate moved into my room for a few days. When I came back to Melb, she didn’t mention anything to me. It was only until when we finished our studies, on the flight back to Singapore that she told me there was ‘something’ stepping on the bed while she slept in my bed. She didn’t dare to tell me as she’s damn scared and didn’t want to scare me to death too. keke. That’s really very kind of her!
There are many other ‘interesting’ encounters from my flatmates and other friends staying in the same building as me but I feel that these three are most memorable and the rest are really ‘too hard to believe’ but sadly, seems to be true.
Things like this happen as we and the ghosts and spirits co-exist in this world. Some are cheeky, some find us as they may have ‘unfinished business’ with us while many are harmless watching us human goes on with life, some are very good.
During my stay in Melb, I hit my mom’s advice. I kept playing the Heart Sutra on my laptop. Later, I even got the CD on Guan Yin Pu Xa’s ‘Pu Men Pin’, which I recited in my room when I had time. I felt that ever since I started doing this, nothing more happened to me during my stay in Melb (at least nobody stepped on me while I’m sleeping la) keke. According to Buddhism, reciting the Heart Sutra is very beneficial, not only to human, but also to the spirits. The sutra guides the spirit to the proper path that it should go and that it will not linger in this world. -
