My England no good but I think I would choose \"the market is near my house\". To describe the proximity of the market to my house, \"I stay near the market\" sounds more appropriate.
I feel that the answer should be The market is near my house.jedamum:

Answer is
My house is near the market.
Or
The market is near my house.

Both are grammatically correct. It depends on what your reference point is. For instance if you are giving directions you might say "Do you know where the market is? My house is near the market".
-
Thanks every one.
So if it is word order question, guess both acceptable. -
Hello parents,
I need some advice on how to teach english to my ds.
My english is not very good. Can somebody introduce me a english guide book to use to teach my ds.
for example on the correct use of "shall" and "will", didn’t, doesn’t, shouldn’t and couldn’t etc. All these I don’t know. I don’t understand when these should be used etc.
And also nouns, pronouns etc, all these I also don’t understand.
I went to popular bookstore, but all is assessment. I want one purely to explain the use of these grammer. Is there such a book in the market? please help.
thank you very much. -
I haven't taught dd any grammar yet, and I don't intend to. I just let her read all the English books she wants. She is now reading Geronimo Stilton, which is much more than I ever read in the first tem of P1! I am hoping she will absorb most of the grammar and vocabulary she needs through reading.
The other thing I let dd do, I am not so sure I should recommend to KSPs ~ cartoons on TV! :yikes:
I am taking the let her learn how to learn English by herself approach. -
My girl this yr Primary 1.Everything also ask.Help someone!

The girl made me CRY. (Correct)
It should not be cries.
I understand the above.
My question is:
1. I see a dog balance a ball on its nose.
2. I see a dog balances a ball on its nose.
Which is correct?
Really appreciate if someone can advise. :?: -
Which level is this for?
BTW, the answer is (1). -
Thanks qms! I knew the answer but I thought with so many changes everywhere lately, schools are teaching different things now so i also have to reform haha. My child is P1. She wrote the whole sentence in her compo but teacher wanted her to put ‘s’. DD is a very avid reader so she came home telling me she is sure her verb is right. Hopefully the teacher was just careless in her marking!
