Yes, thanks goodness my DS got his choice of CCA. It was a stressful week during trials as he was not selected for some sports and left with a few choices which are pretty competitive to get in. For some CCAs, the seniors actually inform you whether you are selected which is really helpful for DS to make the right choice.
Good luck to your appeal. -

Good luck to your appeal.[/quote]I think chances are low. DS has some medical condition. Am not sure if he can cope with NPCC training. Will need to check with the Teacher in Charge. That's why I need to know what does NPCC cover. Is the physical training strenuous. -

Yukilei, I guess if you could substantiate your appeal with medical document from Doctor would certainly help. Otherwise a chat with the Teacher-in-charge is the next best alternative.
I’ve cut from the CCA info for your quick glance of what NPCCs do.
Hope this helps.
What do we do in CCA trainings?
CCA trainings are times where seniors interact with juniors and forge bonds. During CCA trainings, a group of proficient seniors will take on an instructional role and cover specific content with the juniors. The wide array of content is regulated by NPCC HQ, and comprises drill, campcraft, survival and shooting, among others. Such trainings aim to integrate the imbuement of specific values with the learning of outfield skills, e.g. cultivating teamwork via tent pitching and instilling discipline via executing foot drills. Most CCA trainings conclude with a workout session involving either physical exercises or recreational activities such as ball games. This enhances the cadets’ physical fitness and provides a more relaxed environment for the former to mingle with their fellow CCA mates, thereby forging stronger bonds within the unit. -

Hi to all the sec 1 parents!
Anybody would like to share any insights of the Sarimbum Camp? My DS had a very quick lunch, shower and sleeping soundly now. -
Nutty mum:
Same comment for lunch & shower. Food so so. Sleep abt 6 to 6.5 hr per night. 3 types of sleeping area, hut (best sleeping area, but cramp), dorm followed by multi purpose hall (suppose to be the lousiest but spacious).Hi to all the sec 1 parents!
