Was told PSG not need on PSLE result day. So, no excuse to go to
        school
Actually hor, you can still go and kpo. Nobody would know if you are P6 parent or not. Then hor ... report to us the top scorer marks, usually they would announce in the hall. πŸ˜„

hi all.in.one, my girl did quite well for her exam, 3 subjects band 1 and 1 subject band 2... so very pleased with her results....  I know that there are 13 students got selected from their P3 cohort for the 2nd round of GEP, but eventually who got selected, I am not sure... Yes, 3 Compassion is the best class, followed by 3 Diligent & 3 Endurance...

Well well.. I heard that the top scorer for PSLE in their school score 273!!! Very well done... and heard that she is going to RGS too...So, this proves that neighbourhood school can produce good students too!!!!

              πŸ˜„ Hello!

I guess I have to post here once a day to get the BALL ROLLING.

This year I'd over prepared for my girl, so alot of left over worksheets.
Got her to did those over the long holidays.

So NEXT year, I have cut down significantly to use the BEST set suited
to her, one for each subject. Supplement with some loose ones when needed.

I am using Teacher's Production for English, Andrew Er & MY Pal for Math
and off the shelf assessment for Chinese.

Hope this helps you plan for your kid.

 As for school's 1st DAY,

I will not let my girl (P2) bring any textbooks until she brings
                back the time-table.
I will also let her wear full uniform with a small bag.

Remember to purchase the school diary (Only P1s got them).

For parents with P1 girls, no accessories. Those with long hair,
please tie up the hair. Hair clips/band must only be either BLACK,
WHITE or MAROON (as like colour of uniform).

Do wear the school's socks, as everyone will be wearing that.
And your child will look out of place if you wear otherwise.
That is from my observation lah!

                    :celebrate: Hi mod,

Woodlands Primary is pretty okay as far as the teaching as well as non-teaching staff are concerned. Its facilities may not be fantastic, but I value the teachers, principals and support staff's passion for the school and pupils. The school compound is big, so not so \"squeezee\".
There is an extra indoor sports hall which allows for sports events
to carry on during wet days.

I will say it is above average in terms of academic.
I am happy that they are using the STELLAR big book syllabus,
so no English textbooks! Just story based πŸ˜„
I find it reassuring as it's curriculum is not so \"cut-throat\" but still
maintained at a reasonably high level. Teaching is also well paced.
Pupils should be able to enjoy going to this school as they have many
other things that they learn that are fun.

For e.g., my girl loves the art and music lessons as well the P.E.
They even have a tambourine dance module for all P1s!
There is vocal training and compulsory swimming for P3s.

I chose this school mainly for its proximity, good comments from friends
whose children are already studying there, and being an ex-student,
my fond memories of my old school. πŸ˜„

p.s. for WDP, I think not necessary to be PV if you are within 1km in phase 2C. But do check the stats for 2009 in this KSP thread to see
whether there were balloting in phase 2C. But for Evergreen Pri, you must
be PV in order to get into Phase 2B to have a good chance to get in.

                      Mod,

Here is the 2009 balloting history page.
                      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/singapore-primary-1-registration-school-balloting-history
                      click \"Woodlands\"
then look for \"Woodlands Primary\" in the table below the graph.
No ballot req fo 2C. Balloting in 2C supp. for 1-2km

                        πŸ˜„ Good Day!

Does anyone knows if P2 (AM session) has silent reading everyday
                        or only on assembly day?

                        My girls says yes, everyday.
So she brings her story book/mag everyday.
