        Hi Astee,

Like what you mentioned the forum has a lot to digest. I did not have time to think and take note but here is what I have:

Online homework will starts on week 7th with P1 to P3 on odd week while the rest on even week.

Unlike P2 that only has SA1, P3 will have both SA1 and SA2 on top of the term tests. Normally SA1 takes only small percentage while SA2 is often larger than 60%.

There will be talent development programme for sport for P3 this year. There will also be a 1 day stay over adventure camp on 3 June for the P3 kids. External vendors will be hired to organize the camp.

P3 kids will be trained on MS Words as part of the ICT baseline skill. This term, the kids are doing digital art during their art lesson so they are exposed to art and ICT at the same time.

There is this bReading4PS program to train the students on presentation skill. TEH school feel that that is an important skill that will carry a long way for them.

The teacher also shares some important dates:
        5 Feb- LJ to Zoo
28 March - heritage tour to Chinatown
3 June - one day adventure camp
31May - next MTP. This one will be the one to one session
1July - school health service visit
        August -GEP FOR P3

        Astee and Bluebellas,

Feel free to add on to my note. Thanks
Hi, hope you don't mind me joining. The slides of 3D is available in asknlearn, MyTask tab. Slides also include photos of our children which were nicely done. Realized the SA1 and SA2 are weighted. Does it mean T1 and T2 are not counted towards end of year report?
        Term 1
        Mini Test
        Performance Tasks
        Term 2
        Semestral Assessment 1 (30%)
Written Paper, Composition, Oral, Listening Comprehension
        Term 3
        Mini Test
        Performance Tasks
        Term 4
        Semestral Assessment 1 (70%)
Written Paper, Composition, Oral, Listening Comprehension

As I also find slides for Primary 1G in asknlearn, I think the mummies and daddies can find their child's class slides in asknlearn.

Hope it helps those who did not attend the MTP briefing. Cheers!

          Hi all,

May i take this opportunity to wish all Chinese a Prosperous Lunar New Year and i trust that our non-chinese friends had also enjoyed the long weekends. 😉

          Hello Bond,
Welcome to the TGPS thread and we welcome all parents, young or old...oops i mean the children of young ages and upper primary. 😉

Thanks for sharing the MTP slides info on asknlearn. Yes, during the MTP, i asked the same question to the Co-FT and she mentioned that the CAs for P3 are not taken into consideration for the overall score. The 2 main ones are SA1/SA2, which was the same during my girl's time.

This year in P5, CA plays a certain %. So i guess eventhough CA for P3 are not taken into consideration, we must still stressed its importance to our child, so they will not think lightly of the tests and treat them with seriousness. :xedfingers:

Did not expect the P1 learning journey to be quite a tiring journey - First thing DS said when he saw me yesterday was teacher says - next time must bring plastic bag, spare PE shirt and raisins… Then he explained got a few classmates vomitted… So I think the teacher n PVs must have really tire out too…

              Hi Ninjago,

I went with DS2’s class for the learning journey. It was very hot that day. The kids have to stay under the sun most of the time. Some of them did not bring enough water and the teachers have to buy water to refill their bottles. I think it was the heat plus the excitement that caused so e of them to vomit. Some of the kids dozed off in the bus returning to school.

Overall it was fun and the kids were very friendly, too friendly I think as some of them asked me to go to school to see them everyday after the trip, haha. It was a good experience as I could see how DS interact with his classmates and put faces on names whenever DS tells me about his class. After this trip, I strongly encourage parents to at least join one of the LJ just to experience it.

                Hi,

anyone knows if there a lost n found office or desk at the school?
My girl has lost 1 brand new watch, 2 water bottles, 1 wallet at school, mostly at the canteen but the second water bottle was at her class after PE.

I keep telling her to inform her form teacher but she is afraid, n keep reminding her to watch for her own things.
I stopped giving her new things but still old item was taken away by someone.
I’ll have to talk to her again to make sure the facts before writing to her teacher.
Noted her colour pencil, pencils n eraser keep missing as well, but those probably due to sitting together n young kids don’t really care so much when packing n rushing home.

                  Hi forever,

Vaguely recall there is a lost n found cabinet outside the bookshop, at the canteen. But is locked so must approach staff for help.
It is part of training social skills to the kids on taking care of own stuff n approaching teachers for help. They will be 'snubbed' by teachers at times so that is learning when to speak up appropriate times... My DS mentioned times when he was told not to speak up n keep comments to himself n he has to learn as I discuss with him.
Would suggest you label the child's name n class on all items so that there is higher chances of getting it back if found by honest pupils. Even to labelling colour pencils I guess - my DS lost his 'black' colour pencil as the rest was pen-marked except black that was impossible to be written over 🙂

                    Hi Forever,

Agree with Ninjago. This is part of the learning and training for the kids going to a big school from per school. Eventually they will be veterans on taking care of their things. My DS1’s items also disappeared a few times at school. He lost his new watch once which is black in color and can’t be labeled as well. However, the student who fund it returned it to school and DS was able to find it back. I think TGPS kids are quite honest so encourage your girl to approach the general office to look for her lost items at the lost and found cabinet. If she is shy, she can ask her friend to accompany her. Hope this helps.

If the item was just lost, like 1 or 2 days, can go general office to ask. Only if nobody claim the items will they be displayed in the cabinet in front of the bookshop. My daughter lost her wallet and I went to GO to look for it. The staff asked since there’s no name how can I proof the wallet is hers? That left me speechless!

My girl lost the items for quite sometime already. The water bottle has her name, however. Can we not describe the lost item if they ask? Not like I have seen what they have displayed in the cabinet. The cabinet is a display rack with transparent glass? If so, my girl can take a look if the items are there.
