Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

Yes, I agree. at 3.5 years old, I think nurturing your daughter's interest in Chinese will be better, have to instill in them the fact that Chinese is not a difficult subject.Supernova:
Hi, I'm trying to decide between Berries and the ChengZhu language learners programme for my 3.5 year old daughter. She needs to be prepared for P1 higher Chinese and we don't speak Mandarin at home. I would be grateful for any views.
at 3.5 years old I feel it's more about cultivating interests in the laguage... Heard that Berries are pretty fun for learning chinese, and I have not heard of ChengZhu...IMO, do make some effort to speak the language at home, which will definitely help a lot a lot compared to just depending on enrichment classes which might be just 1-3 hours a week...
My children, both of them were with Confucius Institute, NTU (the one at NTU Alumni club) since pre-school, they really enjoyed their lessons, always look fwd to go to class. So I guess ultimately, your daughter will have to enjoy attending the classes, or else all your efforts wasted also.
Is Chengzhu the one at Rochester park? -
Just relax:
yes, the 中华德育故事 cartoon on Sun mornings is good. highly recommendedSupernova:

We too do not speak Mandarin at home. DCs teacher recommended watching cartoons on Ch 8 on weekend mornings. Suggest looking for DVDs of Chinese cartoon series as well as watching some of the kid's programs on Ch 8 etc. important to let DC see as many other kids using Mandarin to get her used to listening to the words. -
My son is in N1. It is either berries at mountbatten cc or tien hsia at parkway, as we stayed nearby both centres.
Any feedback on these 2 centres would be appreciated.
Also, would berries or TH be more suitable for N1?
hear from all -
for myself, Berries was better for my kids when they were N1, N2 but from P1, I switched them to TS as I heard TS is better for upper pri but I did not want to wait till upper pri to switch them as they would not be used to TS methods.
Berries is simpler and easier to understand for younger kids. -
