i cant control myself. tears just rolled down when i read this. i have been sick too. body ache and head ache and breathing thru mouth for days now. i wish i can sleep....

 Aaahh! Good one there ammonite! I'll do just that if I do go to the clinic the next time I am sick. Unfit for duty from _____ to _____. Check!
Most times if I think I am going to fall sick, I go easy on everything and take preventive measures. Extra water intake.. more fruits.. make effort to sleep early and no/less surfing  .. pop lozenges.. etc
The clinic we go to sees everyone in our family and even our parents. Even the locums know us too. There was once I fainted in the bathroom due to some imbalance thingy (which later was diagnosed as anaemia) the doc literally told hubs off.. Cos the doctor.. he asked me if i needed mc.. i said i don't need one as i am a stay home mom and wife.. hubs was busy attending to calls and sms-es while he was asking.. Both of us turned to hubs.. then i said.. nope, can't take that mc even if i need it now.. hubs gotta work.. just prescribe me the medz and i'll be off because i need to get back to my kids.
Doctor held up his hand to gesture me to wait a moment.
The minute hubs was finally off his phone, doc told him.. \"I'm going to give your wife an mc. Two days in fact if i can have it my way.\"
Hubs : She's no longer working.
Doc : Yes, I understand that from her already. But she needs a good rest. So I am giving her mc off house duties of any kind. But here she is having to worry about quickly going back to the kids and you having to go to work.
Hubs : I have no choice. I can't get off from my duties today as I really have a lot of work.
Doc : She has no choice too. She has to rest. C'mon how often does your missus fall sick ... sick enough to come see me? She needs to rest and that's that. You settle your work with your boss.
Hubs : I really can't.
Doc : I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. If anything untoward happens to her, it's your responsibility. Seriously 365 days minding the kids and the house apart from being the background support to this work you do... She not only needs this. It's being owed to her. She needs a break from the routine. I will only release her from the clinic once you settle your work things. I can wait. You need to give me your word that she gets full bed rest. No interruption from you or the children.

Hubs worked from home that day.

This doctor is a sweetheart. :please:
I teared up a bit as he tapped my limp hand and whispered, \"You're still worried about the kids in your condition? Don't worry now. I got this.\" Then came his full force. No voice raised at all. Just said as-a-matter-of-factly... like the friends we have all have grown to be since the two of the doctors there are also friends of mine. I told my friend to offer him partnership in the clinic, instead of the regular locum when they are not around. He didn't take it up though he did consider it.
He's god-sent. A charismatic and professional doctor who loves kids. My children never once cried when they require consultation. Very gentle with young children. Our first consultation with him I remember vividly he said to dd, \"Now sweetie. I'm going to have to put this circle thing (stethoscope) on your chest, it's a little cold but it won't hurt a bit. (holding two fingers up) I promise. (smiled broadly and chuckled). But first, is it okay if I ask mommy to help me lift your cute little tee shirt?\" As I lifted dd's tee, she just had her gaze locked to his eyes somewhat mesmerized though she didn't even understand a hoot what he just said. :salute: He was just too charming, I suppose my mouth was gaping like dd's for abit.
In my instance I suppose.. God works in mysterious ways... and little did I realize, he came in the form of that doctor in my time of need. I had the much needed rest and the next time I saw him, he asked if I was bullied (the other time when I had giddy spells) after he allowed me to go home.
Charming huh? Sigh... -

You should rest as much as possible so baby won't get it from you. Thankfully she's breastfed so hope her immunity is strong to fend off virus. When she sleeps, you sleep too. Though not long sleep but at least short naps. Hang in there. :hugs:

Mawar:
Buds, that's a real doctor you have there. He read the other vital signs well. Very experienced and schooled in the real healing school.
What an understanding and considerate doctor.
I hate it when he always says he has to work and there is a lot of work.
So even I am sick, I take 2nd place after his work?
It's frustrating. -

Buds,
Please let us know the name of this doctor and his clinic location…our men need a good lesson from him. These trouser species forget that when wives are sick, daily household operations will not be working. They also forget that they can be replaced in the office. -

tq ammonite and buds...here take the bb away...[/quote] :hugs: do u have a poor sleeper? Does baby cry a lot? There is usually a reason for their poor sleep and they are as tired as mums are. Once u fix that everything will fall into a smoother routine and things will be easier.buds:

Have u seen a doctor for yourself? If none can help, sleep when baby sleeps and remember to eat and drink well yourself. Use a crockpot and a rice cooker and make sure u have plenty of nourishment. -
Nihauma? Okay, i know today bu hao.. :hugs:
You stay Woodlands? I take baby kai kai one two hours in our buggy. Your baby and my dragon same age ya know?
Ya.. regarding ammonite's question. Does bb sleep very little or not at all? Yes, some babies like my dd2 didn't need sleep the whole morning and afternoon! :faint: Most times when they cry a lot or don't sleep very well, they're hungry knowing them fat babies. Furthermore they are breastfed so breast milk being more diluted should be topped up with solids at their age. My boys are sleeping now after I have breastfed them after we returned from KFC breakfast earlier.. then to the market.. and finally to the playground for some fun and down time with bubble play downstairs.
Ask hubby to buy back dinner for the family since he cannot take leave to cover you. Worse come to worse, just order in. If you have another pri sch going child, can eat at canteen before coming home.
If baby normally does not nap afternoons, you just linger and laze/lie down around where she plays and take forty winks. Turn on some sleepy music for her or a favourite DVD that can get her glued in the meantime.
Just some suggestions to get you by for today at least.
