Hi there, it's unbelievable that the hols are almost over. Anyone has any idea what to pack for 1st day of school  since the timetable is not forthcoming?
Just EL, MT and Math should do?
Haiz...one would have thought that DD being in P2 we should be expert by now

I cannot imagine that she have to spend ard 3hrs everyday in the bus, desperate looking for alternative to go to school. We stay along sembawang road, near Yishun. Any recomendation for carpool or taxi sharing?

Can you still remember what did you pack for qst day of school for P1 last year ?
Also, for 2009 P1 parents, what is the school protocol with regards to parental attendance during the 1st few days of P1 ?
Some other schools's PVG will organise parental talks for 1st few days of new school term, any idea if RGPS PVG will organize similar talks ? I surfed the school's website but could not find any related information.
Thank you.
Hi asil,
Generally, one has to be careful when interpreting 'average' T-scores in schools with GEP pupils. The average includes the GEP pupils who tend to score better. For eg. I believe that the average for GEP pupils in RGPS every year is about 265. (I read this from another thread). The school's average is about low 230s. The true average for the mainstreamers then is lower than 230, after excluding the 70-plus GEP pupils. Hope this helps a little.
Cheers! Celebrate
THanks sleeping beauty for your insights! -

Hello Ming, I didnt go to school with my dd at all during her first day of P1 in 2009. I just sent her off at the void deck where she boarded the school bus and crossed my fingers she turn up there at the right place.

Me and dh went there during recess time to see her and she just smiled and waved at us. Anyway the principal already assured us during the orientation that there be ample teachers and pvs on hand to guide any lost kids during the first day so I guess we just left it to their hands. -
Hi my dd will be in P2 next year. For those parents with dd in P1 next year DO NOT WORRY!if she takes the school bus or if she is dropped in school by car she will be escorted to the hall by either a PV or teacher. When I look back I think the girls were MORE confident (I’m a big girl now attitude)than the parents(especially the DAD’S)Things to bring-Math 1A-Part 1,MT-1A,pencil box with max 4 sharp pencils, rubber, ruler.DON’T FORGET THE NAME CARD.Pin it on her uniform. The same one they had on 4 their orientation. If it is lost just get another one.Pack some snack for them. They will each have a P2 buddy.Happy new year to all!

Many thanks for your sharing.
I stay quite far from RGPS and my girl will need to spend at least 1 hour on the school bus (pickup time at 11.30am). A bit worried on whether she will take to the long travelling journey well.
Like what you did, I will also be there during the 1st 3 days I guess. Have already taken leave.
Remembered you mentioned before that your girl is in P1H this year. Mine has also been assigned to 1H. Any idea if the form teachers remains the same or they follow the P1 class to P2 next year ?
Thanks.

Dear gr2knc,
Thank you for the necessary information.
Does it mean its English reading book for Mon, Wed, Fri and MT reading book for Tues & Thurs ?
Thought of emailing the form teacher assigned to ask about more specifics. Any feedback on their response time in general ?
Rgds,
Ming
