Thank you very much.
D 12u + 22
B 12u
Spend
D 1/4 of (12u + 22) --> 3u + 5.5
B 1/6 of 12u --> 2u
3u + 5.5 --> 8 + 2u
1u --> 2.5
a)
2u --> 2*2.5 = 5
Bend spent $5
b)
the total amount of money the two boys had left was
= (12u + 22) + 12u - (3u + 5.5) - 2u
= 19u + 16.5
= 19*2.5 + 16.5
= 47.5 + 16.5
= 64 -
Thank you!! Thank you so much jieheng!

1/6 of Ben's money (spent)--> 1 unit, Ben's money --> 6 units
1/4 of Daniel's money (spend) --> 1 unit + $8, Daniel's money --> 4 units + $32
Ben had $22 less than Daniel,
So, 6 units (Ben's money) + $22 = 4 units + $32
1 unit --> $5
a) Ben spent --> $5
b) Daniel spent --> $5 + $8 = $13
Total amount left --> 5 x $5 + 3 x $13 = $64
