      FHP:
My DH is like mediator , always stops me from scolding the maid. He likes to be a good guy...when I complained to him abt the maid, he will just brush it off,\"siding\" the maid, till the point I cannot stand it anymore. That's one of the reasons why I want to send back the maid.

Mine also sides the maid OFTEN...like when I said, 'how many times must I remind her' and he would say, 'did YOU ask her to write down?'
always saying, 'if she is intelligent, she won't be a maid'.
i would ask him, 'so you think she is stupid ? she isn't...she just ACTS stupid.'
she knows how to top up pre-paid card ok...if she is stupid, she will not know.

that was once my DH asked how come his car was always dirty, despite she claimed she washed it everyday.

So one day,I woke up early n chk her......Guess what i found?...........................................................................................................she washed the wrong car... :faint: :slapshead:

She has been washing my neighbour's car, which shares the same model n colour as our car.Instead of telling her,my neighbour's maid chose to keep quiet n watched her washing the car. :scared:

Till then,my DH finally convinced she is stupid, not cunning.

acting stupid to eat a tiger...扮猪吃老虎.
what your hubby said is true...sometimes these maids are cunning. they assess their employers to see if they can bully...whether they can control their employers or not.

"If she is stupid she won’t be a maid". This is often quoted by many people. No offence meant, but personally, I feel that that is an ignorant, condescending, insulting comment.

In the less developed countries, many intelligent people do not have the opportunity for higher studies. So just cos they don’t work in some atas job does not mean that they are stupid.

My last Filipino maid…don’t know how to describe her.

She just doesn’t know what she wanted…work in an incense shop (which is illegal) packing incense whole day…employer bought her lunch and dinner…she didn’t have to do housework or cook. Morning to night, she was at shop. Then she got tired of it and wanted to be a maid doing housework and cooking…and I was the unfortunate victim.
She refused to learn cooking and resistant to learn anything. But she enjoyed eating.

If not bcos we weighed the pros and cons of part-time vs maid, we wouldn’t have to employ the latter. Anyway, kids have grown up. Don’t need to spend a bomb maintaining a maid and put up with their nonsense.

Without a maid, things are definitely better. At least he doesn't have the stupid excuse that I am free to shake legs. I don't have to pay so much money to maintain a 饭桶

Tatz true.. DH also feels his ears r free from me nagging n complaining abt the maid.. at least for the last.. he was the one tat decide to send her off n not me..

n we get to teach our kids to be independent.. they learn to wash the toilet, fold their own clothes, make their bed, bring dishes to sink, wipe dry dishes, hang clothes to dry etc..
