Is this really true? I feel uncomfortable when parents, in general, nowadays focus mainly on their child's academics rather than their emotional development and understanding

Actually I would prefer my kid to mingle with those who have lot of self confidence and are outspoken with good behaviour.


Yes intelligence do matter, but intelligence alone makes a person look like a proud snob..

Well mannered and cultured person will be greatly able to influence your kid.

Actually some kids are easily influenced by what they see other doing..they just want to be able to mingle with friends and be one with them..

But aping them may not truly make them intelligent as such..yes they may be able to copy how hard they are working to study and their behaviourism etc..since the kids socialize..they discuss common topics..and hence can unknowingly influence each other..

For example, when I was young and back in India..I had few friends who lagged behind in education..but were super well mannered and they were very close to my heart..some of them were good in singing, dancing and excelled in sports too..but not all were good in academics..

but whenever I met their parents..they would grumble and tell their kids to follow my lead and score more in academics..which sounded absurd to me..in my own heart I used secretly long to become like them..so independent, outspoken and great in sports and other activities..

I would really love my child to excel in sports, singing and dancing..these are activities which removes the shyness and hesitation for public performance from a person..

But alas..my child is very shy and keeps to herself..of course I cannot blame anyone but me..as a child I was the same..:)

My mother used to grumble..about it..a lot..believe me when I say this..

But if you look at me now, am totally reverse..I had varied experience in life which has moulded me into a more confident person..

I am very loud and boisterous (if you met me you will know)..I talk so much that even deaf and dumb will start to hear and speak


so let kids be kids..and mingle with everyone without prejudice..
what a child must learn is that..each individual is special..everyone has their plus points and negative points..

so just see if the plus points can be copied or adapted to suit us..(this will be successful we never know..but can try)..
MAINLY JUST KEEP AWAY FROM NEGATIVE HABBITS..
